I kept hearing people say H&K borderline on an anti-gun mentality. I never see anything from them directly. But anyone with more experience know about that?

It comes with semi-automatic and full-auto firing modes only. Its overall size places it between a handgun and submachine gun. Its assault rifle capabilities and small size make this a serious weapon that should not be taken lightly.”

Where was this published? Funny how a German company don't know what civilian disarmament means.

it was on recoil magazine. but, its all over the internet now.
http://monderno.com/monderno/recoil-magazine-and-the-second-amendment/
this was last year.
recoil magazine probably lost all but two of their readers over the fallout.
It goes back a while-
An open letter to the gun community from HK’s marketing department:
In a world of compromises, some people put the bullets in the magazine backwards…But it doesn’t matter, because our gun is on the cover of the Rainbow Six video games. Look how cool that SEAL coming out of the water looks… If you buy a $2,000 SOCOM, you will be that cool of an operator too. And chicks will dig you.
At HK, we stuck a piston on an AR15, just like a bunch of other companies have done, dating back to about 1969. However ours is better, because we refuse to sell it to civilians. Because you suck, and we hate you.
Our XM8 is the greatest rifle ever developed. It may melt, and it doesn’t fit any accessories known to man, but that is your fault. If you were a real operator, you would love it. Once again, look at Rainbow Six, that G36 sure is cool isn’t it? Yeah, you know you want one.And by the way, check out our new HK45. We decided that humans don’t need to release the magazine with their thumbs. If you were a really manly teutonic operator, you would be able to reach the controls. Plus we’ve fired 100,000,000 rounds through one with zero malfunctions, and that was while it was buried in a lake of molten lava, on the moon. If you don’t believe us, it is because you aren’t a real operator.
By the way, our cheap, mass-produced, stamped sheet metal guns like the G3 and MP5 are the bestest things ever, and totally worth asinine scalpers prices, but note that cheap, mass-produced, stamped sheet metal guns from other countries are commie garbage. Not that it matters, because you’re civilians, so we won’t sell them to you anyway. Because you suck, and we hate you, but we know you’ll be back. We can beat you down like a trailer park wife, but you’ll come back, you always do.
Buy our stuff.
Sincerely
HK Marketing Department.
Because you suck. And we hate you.
[Coffee]
I think it started when they refused to support or sell any parts for NFA stuff to private citizens.

SAnd,
Best commentary on HK I've read in a long time. Never been a fan of HK. I'm not sure who they are designing guns for. But is sure isn't for the normal sized human.
Also isn't the MP7 that sub gun chambered in a goofy cartridge? Not quite a rifle cartridge but only mildly more powerful than a handgun cartridge. Good idea, but poor caliber choice. Just like the FN P90.

The above quote is from Jerry Tsai, deposed editor of Recoil Mag. He was fired over the obviously anti-2A undertones. It was not written by HK.

H&K looks at the American civilian shooter as a pain in the ass. They are only interested in the military/ LE area, and if you did'nt see the OBVIOUS sarcasim in Jerry Tsai's comments, then you don't know H&K.

Where did you get the idea that H&K cared about the LE market? When I was an LE armorer, I would rather have had my teeth cleaned by a special-needs child with three or four extra chromosomes, using a metric socket set, than deal with H&K.
Besides, their guns are forged deep in Odin's ass from Nordic unobtainium before being brought to Earth by valkries and prayed over by Father Guido Sarducci, and none of us are worthy.
Nope, never heard it. I always hear a bunch of whining about Hk though...

I will say that my H&K's have never jammed in thousands of rounds and at times purposeful neglect (hey let's see if it will run without lube/cleaning). You do pay through the nose for that Teutonic gnome magic.
I've never carried one personally, but talked to several guys overseas that carried them and absolutely hated it. They said they were difficult to shoot and inaccurate. I had my eye on a usp 45 until recently when I fired one and found the trigger press to be absolutely atrocious.
Needless to say, my affinity with HK has dropped quite a bit in the last few months.

Sorry, but the MP71a is nothing more than an Uzi for the 21st century. I'm just not diggin it.
Overall I like H&K's products, but the way they handled the ATI deal over he GSG-5 pissed me off royally. They refused to make a semi-auto .22LR version of her MP5, then ATI mkes one and sales are through the roof. So, H&K decides they're going to make one afterall but need to stop ATI from making them to eliminate the competition.

I did this with my MARK23 .... a lil over 3000 rounds with out cleaning (and loading dirty mags in it after dropping'em on the ground/dirt)... without jamming. I did lube it though.. I guess this doesn't count then [Coffee]

Should try that USP .46 MATCH... that thing is phenomenal... well that was a bit of an exaggeration, but that thing was accurate out to 100 yards 4 or 5 in a row out of 7 shots made that day. I don't own one, but I know who does...[Coffee] what a lucky guy [Beer]

I shoot my USP40 tac better than anything I own... Except the "Serb-Croat special" Springfield XD, which I shoot as good as the USP.
It disheartens me that HK doesn't see fit to provide Semi-auto examples of many of their weapons for civilian consumption.

I have a USPc and P7 like Cylinder, islander and bourbon have said i have never had a jam. they fit my hand like a glove and are very accurate. Like you said the USPc trigger is sub par for a DA/SA and i feel the LEM trigger is even worse. I had to get a part for the P7 and water boarding might have been more fun then dealing with them. They are kinda like Enzo Ferrari who said that the people that bought his cars are idiots and the only reason he catered to the public was so he could support his racing cars or in HK's mind there military contracts.

Elitists. Thirty years ago they thought they were Uber gods. I remember having to "steal" a catalogue at the big show in Vegas. HK Reps were assholes way back then and all they had out was VP70s and P7s for pistols. Founders were Nazis working for Mauser. They took everything the could from the Mauser factory and hit the road.
IMHO Fans of HK are in that stereotypical Men's club that worship: Porsche, BMW, Rolex, Green bottle beers, matching bicycle outfits (Boulder is full of these metro clones in uniform), Levinson audio equipment, Cohibas (expensive and Cuban so must be good), German football clubs, etc. Never met an HK fan that wasn't more concerned about the look and status of owning the HK over shooting the damn thing and hitting something with it. Hell, even today their "classic" squeeze cocking pistols go for $1000 -$2000 and for what? Good luck with those $300 mags that hold 13 rds of 9mm Nordic fury. Drop it on the ground and whoops- bye bye $. Guess you could say I'm not too keen on anything from that country of troublemakers. Starting 3 wars in less than 70 yrs and causing 50million plus deaths is not a record of fine people.
