View Full Version : Clear Creek / Idaho Springs IPSC
The Clear Creek Sportsmans Assn hosts IPSC/ISPSA matches on the fourth Sunday of every month. Set-up begins around 7:00 and the match start time is 10:00.
The weather up there can be dicey in the winter months so be sure to check your email or here about a match cancellation *before* you leave in the morning. Or, if you hear about the match being canceled, please post it here to make sure others know as well.

Ok, what are the odds we're going to have a match this coming weekend? The forecast looks good for Sunday.
Dude..... I am sure that they have a boat load of snow up there from the storm yesterday and the forecast is calling for more snow on Friday and Saturday. So unless there is some serious snow plowing going on at the range that place will be at least knee deep with snow on all of the berms.

Pretty easy call. It's still snowing hard here. I've got 14-16" on the ground, it has to be worse at the range. When it melts it's going to be a mess.

Nobody turned one in after the match, but I'll check around.

Hell, Rog, I just got back from CCCSC shooting rifle. It was 54 degrees and no wind! Couldn't believe it. Good luck with Feb match. If it's 54 degrees, I may even make the match.
There is already some snow on the ground and more on its way this weekend. It doesn't look good for CC this weekend but Aurora is a "Go" tomorrow.
We're planning on having the match this coming Sunday, May 22. We can use some extra set up help, some of the staff will be shooting a match somewhere else...

Had a great time at my first USPSA match, yesterday. Thanks for putting on a great event. Transition from IDPA was pretty easy, but I need to stop using cover correctly to improve my times, lol.

Transitioning from one Action Pistol game that requires the use of cover to another one that doesn't (or vice versa) is a bit difficult sometimes.
This Sunday, July 28, Clear Creek Practical Shooters will be hosting its monthly USPSA match at Dumont, CO. Though there is a slight chance of rain expected on that day, it appears as though the rain will not begin falling until later in the afternoon so don't let this keep you from joining us in sending some lead downrange.
As always, setup begins at 7:30am and the match itself starts at 10am.

We were hoping that the early Spring weather would be conducive to hosting a USPSA match at the Clear Creek range this month but sadly this is not the case. For this reason, we will NOT be having a match this coming Sunday.
Hopefully next month's weather will be better,

Looking for a classifier, is there one coming up anytime soon?
We will not be holding a super-classifier at Clear Creek this year but, in years past, the good folks or CRC have done one every year. All other USPSA clubs in the area (including CCPS) have one classifier per match. If the weather cooperates, we should be hosting our first match of the year at Clear Creek during the month of April and, if your schedule allows, you are most certainly welcome to come join us.
Tomorrow's (Sunday, May 25) match at Clear Creek is a 'go'. We will also be celebrating Memorial Day Weekend with a BBQ hosted by the club.
We will begin the match a little bit earlier than our normal star time. As always, set up will begin at 7:30am but the match itself will start at 9:00am.
I hope to see you there in the morning!

No surprise for most but I'll post it here anyway. Weatherman says we cannot come out and play at Clear Creek range tomorrow unless we bring our rain gear. Since I cannot find mine, this month's match is a NO-GO. Let's hope that next month brings better weather.

Yep. Same schedule: setup starting at 7am and shooter's meeting at 9am. The official match call email goes out on Friday.

Though the ECOUSPSA shows something different, this coming Sunday, September 25, is when we will be shooting our 2016 USPSA Qualifier Match at Clear Creek. The weather is promising to be phenomenal with clear skies and a high of 60 degrees.
Please be at the range by 7:30am to help with the setup and, that way, we can get the match started by 9:00am. It's going to be a fun one!!
The rain was not as bad as it could have been and the range is not under water. We are going to be shooting in the morning. I hope you join us.

By order of the Clear Creek Sheriff's Office, the Dumont range is temporarily CLOSED due to a high fire danger in the county. Because of this, we are cancelling all CCPS matches until we are told that we can resume making use of the range.
We'll keep you posted of any changes.

So pistol shooting events which are diligently regulated and managed are banned because of potential fire hazards which were produced by idiot plinkers shooting tracer rounds causing fires? That makes total sense............. [pileoshit]
I am not bashing the match staff with this comment. Its just frustrating to see how lazy the government is when it comes to regulation. Closing the Clear Creek range does nothing to stop the same type of idiots from blasting their guns right off the trail roads in the mountains causing a worse risk of fire.
Rumor has it that this Sunday's match is canceled for crappy range conditions.

Due to poor range conditions and much of the staff being out of town we will not be having our match this month. Enjoy the time with friends and family, but more importantly take some time to think of those that have gave their lives for our freedom
