I live in Edgewater and so am very aware of Providence and Sloans. Anywhere else in the Wheat Ridge area for a great (not fast food) burger?

Jim's Burger Haven in Westminster is quite tasty. A bit of a trek from WR but not more than 15 minutes.
T-Giv!! You got that right!!! Jim's been there for years...EXCELLENT burger.
5 Guys has an awesome burger too- not cheap, but worth every cent

I'd give them one more try. Last time their fries had more oil dripping off them than my 48 flat head. Their other items are mediocre.
Park Burger in LoHi? Don't laugh, but Jack n' Grill on Federal and 25th makes a great BIG burger, and their green chili on top of it is pretty darn good. Seriously, try it.

Smash Burger or Sanford's? I don't think I've ever had Sanford's fries. I always end up with freddies instead.

Jack N Grill will be tried this coming weekend!! Right now I've got a Hops and Pie small cheese coming with Iti sausage and smoked hamhock for toppers. Also their pulled pork sandwich. They smoke it with pineapple and some Thai stuff. Looking forward to my first time eating their food. Heard a lot about the joint.

Another vote for Jim's Burger Haven. Lots of pics of classic American muscle cars and stuff in there, too. It's like an old burger joint from the 60s or 70s. Great burgers on like 6" buns...maybe bigger. Jim's makes 'em just like What-a-Burger.
I think he's up on 72nd-ish and Sheridan.

Have eaten at Jim's a number of times. They're good- but I was looking for something a little closer with a bigger, thicker burger. Jacks sounds perfect, and it's close. Parf comes thru again!
Wish there was still a Fuddruckers here, loved the 1lb burgers and do it yourself toppings. Plus the nap afterwards.

Stick with the burgers there, I like the smaller ones best. Fires are really good as well. Regular bacon cheeseburger, fries and a Coke at Jim's is a go to when in that area at the right time. Can be a little slow.

It had been nearly two years since my last In N Out burger and I started to think that they were hype and overrated. I had one last month and I must say it is still King in my book by far. Kicks the testies off of any other burger I've had. Jim's is my second though. The fact that Jim's is 3 blocks from my house is also rather convenient! We should do a meet n' greet at Jim's.

While Five Guys is good, they are too greasy. In N Out isn't greasy and everything is fresh from their own farms and distribution plants. Which are in California and recently Texas. Because of the freshness, in n out has to have a restaurant within 24 hours.

Tried 5 Guys this weekend, good burger. (Indiana Colfax) Wife liked them as much as Smashburger. (32nd Youngfield).

There's a Smashburger over by AppleJacks on Youngfield - not too far from us in Edgewater.
Sloan's is generally my go to place if I'm looking to go out for a burger - but I make a pretty mean burger myself so I don't go out for burgers too much.

I used to work at Park Burger in the DU area for about 2 years. I absolutely despise the owner as he is one of the worst human beings I've ever met...but hot damn do they make awesome burgers. I haven't found a burger that beats their Chilango. Fresh jalapenos, sub for the swiss cheese (comes with cheddar), in house guac and have them throw a fried egg and bacon on top.
It's worth giving that Belgian bastard $10 bucks for that burger, a side of sweet potato fries and a Hoegaarden.

There's a Freddy's in Aurora now as well.

I don't like their fries either Jim. If I get fries I get the sweet potato fries but ask them to cook them light as they have a tendency to cook the ever-loving shit out of them. I like the Veggie Frites much better as a side and the battered chilis are excellent. For burger, without a doubt it's the Baja. It's a little bit spicy but the flavor profile is excellent with the jalapenos, guacamole, pepper jack cheese & habanero chipotle sauce. Man... this is making me want to go get a Smashburger!
Freddy's is a good burger but they are only in Loveland and Longmont.
If you don't have Freddy's go to Culver's, it's pretty much the exact same thing with hot dogs on the menu and Feddy's doesn't have the pot roast or other more unique entrees to choose from.

Ha! Funny story, shortly after posting to this thread I found myself at a Freddy's for lunch since that's where my mom wanted to eat. I stick by my statement of suggesting Culver's instead. Freddy's burgers are the same style patty but seem to be dryer and with less flavor. Fries are great (first time having just french fries w/o chili & cheese n such) flavor but the seasoning, while tasty, is fairly high in sodium if you're sensitive to salty things. It's decent but it's still fast food and I wouldn't put it up with any of the other places we discussed already. Also, one I forgot to mention in the Fort Collins area is Lark Burger. A little more spendy but their truffle burgers & fries are quite tasty and they use top notch ingredients. FatBurger around the Denver area might be one of my favorite burgers in the state. Be sure to do the big 'un and throw a fried egg on it or you ain't doing it right. For a tasty burger that most don't talk about.... Doug's Day Diner. The Legend burger is incredible and doesn't get a lot of fanfare because EVERYTHING at Doug's is fantastic. Their biscuits and gravy are the best I've ever had. Much of their menu is incredible so if you're in Loveland (off 4th & 287) Fort Collins (Harmony next to 5 Brothers) or off of Parker & Orchard in South Denver/Centennial you have to stop in and check it out. Great customer service and even better food.

I had a good burger at the LoHi Steakhouse too, kinda a hipster-douchebag place, but close to you and pretty tasty. Only went once so don't hold my feet to the fire.

Didnt say good for you. It's a semi annual kinda place, at most.
How about the burger off the bar menu at Elway's in Cherry Creek?
Crave's Wing burger is pretty damn good. I ask my kitchen manager to "fake" me one every few months. At this point we have moved pretty far afield from quiet little Edgewater (go Saints!).

Sneakerd, you are right. I learned to hate Cherry Creek the hard way. Lots of "men" wearing nice suits, nice watches...busting our their F-ing change purses so they could leave exact change, and stiff their waitress. I don't see the $8 bar burger on their lounge menu anymore either.

I've been to Crave in HR. Overrated. They try too hard. A great burger stands on its own.
On the south end of town, On the Rox Sports Bar & Grill has some really tasty burgers. They say "Parker", but it's closer to Lone Tree.

This 100%! I don't get what all the craze is about Five Guys. They're not good burgers IMO and I've even eaten at the original in D.C. a couple of time and have never been impressed, especially for what they charge and what few options they allow.

AMEN. we tried LB ONCE, from completely fuking up the order, to taking forever (the first time) We overpaid for what even the clown could have done for 1/4 the price in 1/10 the time.
Burger consist of MEAT, SEASONING CHEESE (OPTIONAL) BACON (OPTIONAL) AND what ever add on's you want.
I don't care if the mushrooms were hand picked under a full moon, by vestal virgins during their menstrual cycle. I do care about service, getting the order RIGHT THE FIRST TIME , AND not taking longer to get it to my table, then it did to kill and gut, at the slaughter house.
