View Full Version : Very Good Sight at Adams County Friday
So my wife took Jim's basic handgun course late last month to get her CHP (which she enjoyed and recommends btw). We drove out to Brighton to the Adams County Sheriff's Office yesterday to drop off her paperwork and be fingerprinted. We got there about 20 minutes before they started accepting apps and she was already 7th in line. While we waited another 7-8 people showed up just within the hour. While sheeple might not be huge fans of our EBR's it's still refreshing to see normal everyday people getting CHP's. I think it's a good sign in case "The One" ever tries to pass Federal legislation on the matter.
They had 2 people working on apps, and they said it's been like that constantly since Obama had been elected. While us gun owners might think the sheep have the wool pooled over their heads, not everyone does. They said the wait time is now closer to 90 days while they normally shoot for 60 days. Of course i don't feel bad for them, i'm pretty sure they can turn them around same day if they actually wanted to.
Made me glad i got my permit previously, was just me and one other guy there [Muaha]

Wow! When I got mine, back a few years ago, they said it would be a 3-4 week wait. I had my permit in 5 days. Let's hope they are exaggerating the wait time as usual.
I talked to the Sheriff's gal who works on prints and photos and she said that CBI is averaging over 3,000 per week since the regime change was inevitable.
I think the rest of the country is on the same track.
7 weeks * 3000 = 21,000 * 50 states = 1,050,000
3+ more weeks until he is crowned so that's another 1/2 million CC app's.
I can't even guess the number of gun purchases but it has to be at least a factor of 100.
My wife and I turned our apps in about 2 weeks ago and it was a standing room only at the Jeffco Sheriffs office. We printed our apps online and filled them out at home and it still took us over an hour to turn the apps in and get finger printed. They told us that its also taking the full 90 days to receive the permit!
The waiting sucks, but that is good to hear! The more people we can get armed the better off we are. Plus it will be less likely concealed carry will be banned at the Federal level with these kinds of numbers.
An AWB is extremely important to me, but we also need to protect the right to carry firearms along with Castle Doctrine laws. All these guns are nearly useless if they can't be used for protection.

Your math is off. It's hardly 50 states. More like 44 are "Shall issue" and I think at least one (NE) requires a State course which is hard to get into.
Still the numbers are encouraging. Now if a fraction of those people join organizations (RMGO, VCDL, NRA, SAS, hell even Pink Pistols) and actually do something we might have a chance next elections

They can always be "used" -it's just a question as to whether or not you'll go to prison

Well after Jan 20th it's 57 states according to our new self appointed messiah.
That's okay, the 57 states can celebrate 77 years of television per our soon-to-be new vice-messiah.
