Pretty much a given that what is reported is only a fraction of what is actually happening. Most seem to believe that nothing meaningful will come of the investigations into IRS, NSA, DOJ, HHS, etc. If so, this will embolden the administration that they can get away with anything. Expect to see the tyranny ramp up against conservative or republican groups and citizens over the next 3.5 years. Intimidation will be the least of the problems - expect new regulation, enforcement, and taxes/fees to be directed towards the right.
To be sure, the left doesn't want a civil war - they want control of everyone and everything. How this pans out is anybody's guess.

The Soviet Union did the same things.

The difference is that there is an active patriotic gun culture here that the government is deeply afraid of. Your average liberal is too stupid to understand but the government understands all too well.

I was talking to a wise old former politician today. His opinion, the Dems leaked these spying stories to purposely soften the public into more and more acceptance. I was skeptical, so I did some research. He might be right...seems some of the "revelations" were not whistle blowers, but planted questions crafted by supervisors and such.

I believe it. I don't think we know anything more than they allow us to know.
