View Full Version : Sick of the heat already
Well I am tired of the hot weather already...
Hope we have some rain soon.
I hear ya ducky, fishin aint no fun in this heat!Plus they don't bite..
I guess I'm on the other side of this. I love the hot weather. I actually like it in the low 90s... The winter weather seemed to linger for too long this year. I guess, when I look at the kind of activities I like to do they all deal with warmer temps, Autocross, riding my motorcycle, hiking...

I was thinking the same thing, except that I am in Kuwait [BooHoo]

I can do the same things I do in 75 deg weather as I can in 90 deg weather!!
I guess I've spent too much time in Nebraska and Iowa lately. Doesn't seem very hot to me around here.
I do prefer the winter months for the simple fact that I don't have to mow or deal with sprinklers.
The A/C at work went out and the entire unit has to be replaced ($5000-10000) so they are dragging feet. I've spent the last 2 weeks at 105+. Because of security regulations there are no windows and no going outside for the duration of your shift. It's a very strange experience after 8-10hrs to walk outside in to 85-90 degrees and feel cool.

What is this thing you call heat? I'm used to down south high humidity and high temperatures heat. This is spring weather to me, lol.

I know what you mean. The buildings I work in are typically well over 100 degrees. One place is usually closer to 140. You can step outside into the sun on a 94 degree day and it feels cool.

That sir, is just plain nuts. I don't know how you do it.

I'm not much of a 90+ enthusiast. Don't like freezing my yarbles off either though.
If it could be 70 *in the shade* all year long, I'd be in paradise.
I don't know how people manage to live in the southwest in the summer. 98 degrees at midnight, and shit like that. Just blow my head off, thanks.

I sweat a lot and they pay me a lot of money. That's the only way I can do it. It's not fun either. Might be better if I wasn't wearing fire retardant clothing, boots, gloves, and a hard hat. That stuff makes it feel a lot hotter than it actually is.

Haha you must be doing it wrong. I go at lunch a lot because the hottest part of the day is when I do the best.

The worst part about this weather is I can't even take a 20 mile motorcycle ride without having ass sweat when I get off; if you get stuck in traffic than you are royal screwed sitting on an air cooled bike.

82 tops for me. Anything above that I'm hating. Remember when it used to rain around 3 in the afternoon everyday and cool the day off? Bring that back.
When its cold you can put on more clothes a d be warm, but when its hot you're just hot.

I just got back home from spending a week in the Illinois/Iowa area. Humidity back there was a bitch and makes our temps of 90+ almost seem pleasant.

Traffic? What are you doing? Riding around in the big city?
Head out of town. My favorite thing on a hot day is to head into the mountains. Riding in the canyons along side the creeks is always cool.

Yep. I was standing outside in the sun about two in the afternoon on Monday and it felt awesome.

I'm a heat enthusiast myself, but very much appreciate this change of perspective!

it's been about what, 10 years or so now since it stopped doing that?
I like this heat better than the crap down south or in the Midwest. All that humidity sucks!
I like the cooler temps better. I'd much rather be cold than hot. You can always throw on more clothes, once your naked and still hot, that's just miserable.

I was working in Tempe, AZ last august, and remember leaving work at around 1:30am - outside temp was 122 degrees.......

Yeah about that.
I blame Al Gore.
Those of you that work in hot environments (be it Kuwait, firefighting, or something else without A/C) have my utmost respect. I don't know how you can do it.
Heat and humidity are absolutely awful (Biloxi Mississippi in the high summer is especially hellacious) and weeks at 90+ do not make me happy. I prefer things slightly coolish, but right now, even a summer of 80 degree temps sounds like a pipe dream.
I wish we would get some of the rain that the rest of the country is experiencing.

Errrr pretty sure that violates OSHA. Some manager isn't doing their f'ing job.

This.
It used to be in the 80s all summer with a stretch in late August in the 100s and it used to rain almost every afternoon. I used to actually enjoy summers when it was like that.
You can keep this 90+ degree everyday and no rain crap.
It seems like everyone complains about the weather but no one is willing to do anything about it.

68 in the sun up here right now.

It's a joke.
When I run for president in 2016, I'm running with the promise of bringing cooler temperatures and more rain to our country. Except tropical places like Florida. There I will promise cooler temperatures and less rain.
I should even draw votes from hard core democrats. Even they don't like all this heat and they are too stupid to realize I can't deliver on my promises.

May I remind you all gentlemen, that some of our troops, and members of this board are right now experiencing temps of 130+ during the day and 101+ at night while overseas. I'm fairly sure that they will appreciate the sympathy that I know you could share, by not complaining about how hot is here in the States!!
SR
God bless our troops and those that are serving this country both overseas and in the good old USA!
got my respect.

Its because of what they do that I can sit over here on my fat ass in my air conditioned house and complain if I have to go outside in the heat.
God bless them for all they do and the sacrifices they make on behalf of all of the citizens of our great country.

I am sick of grouchy customers that have been "inconvenienced" with no cooling for 2-3 days.

3-4 days right now. We were a week out.

That's much better than I thought it would be!
At least the rain cooled down the area tonight. I hate the heat, if we had 50 and cloudy all summer and snow all winter I'd have found my perfect place to live. I'm a bit pale to like direct sunlight too. Worst heat I ever saw was Ft Polk in July, we got so bad it was 112 with 90+ humidity and we got black flag days out in the box.
