Didn't you get the government approved memo? Coming out is super-heroic. It might even get you invited to the White House.

I watch what my son watches. I also make sure he doesn't much much TV. Today we changed out an outboard boat motor impeller. He has no idea yet what was going on but he learned what a wrench and a bolt and a nut are. He is already more educated mechanically than half of america and 70% of jiffy lube employees.

I never really got the whole super hero costume thing anyway. From the clip I saw he didn't really want to be dressed like a girl. Does he warm up to it?

It was ok for Bugs Bunny to dress like a girl. Now I have to find this cartoon and watch it to see how evil it is.

So are people being forced to watch and read these? Is that the big outrage? If you disagree with the content of a book, show, movie, etc. don't buy it, change the channel to something else, take a walk, whatever. Half the reason they make these is because they know they will get a reaction, which then gets them free publicity. And as has been proven since history began, there is no such thing as totally bad publicity. For no money, their links were posted on this site and has two pages of replies and hundreds will see it.

Holy blown out of proportion Batman! It's a bad cartoon as far as cartoons go but it doesn't push cross dressing on kids. The main character finds his dead aunt's superhero ring and puts it on while mocking his sister. The ring turns him into a superhero that happens to be a girl character. He's still a boy when he changes to Shezow he's just dressed like the character. His sister and friend make fun of him when they see him "transform". If anything the jokes and some situations could be considered offensive to women.

Exactly.

I don't agree with it but WHO CARES!. Don't let your kids watch the TV show, you can block it nowadays.

Don't watch such drivel and it will eventually go off the air due to lack of ratings. In a capitalist system that's, how things work.

It must get tiring being outraged all the time.

No, what gets tiring is the fact our nation is being turned into a cesspool and every body does not care, they would rather change the channel.

I have watched a few bits of this cartoon on YouTube. I would say the character is a cross dresser and not transgender. I will also admit that it has some really funny parts. I don't have any children but, if I did, I would have no problem with them watching this cartoon.

How is it different? Because you like Bugs Bunny?

Male characters have been dressing as women for along time for entertainment.

Some Like it Hot. Kabuki.

However what BP and others are saying is: What was once done in the name of comedy , to get a laugh has been taken to an extreme. It's used not so much for shits n giggles as more of an agenda.

Burn an American flag Free speech, a mexican one and it's racist and hateful. Call someone a cracker HA HA, call a spade a spade you might have been a food network hostess. Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn a shadow of segregation, Billy has 2 mommies is acceptable.
Abstaining as part of sex education, BAD IDEA and Unrealistic, Showing elementary school kids the correct way to apply a condom acceptable.
Shooting team and rifle rack has been replaced by swat team, arrest and expulsion.
On and On.

Seriously, if you try to use Bugs Bunny occasional crossdressing in the name of slapstick comedy as a correlation, defense, or cop out for this type of "accept or you're a bigot" type of agenda, then you seriously have no leg to stand on in this discussion.

That's the thing the turning into a women schtick is supposed to be the funny part. Here is a synopsis of the show according to a release from the network:

“an extreme dude who inherits the power ring of his deceased aunt -- the amazing FEMALE superhero SheZow! The ring gives him villain-battling super powers, but was meant to be worn by a girl, and the result is absolutely she-larious!”

It sound's stupid, I wouldn't watch it.

Sounds like it asks a tough question of "How far would you go to stand up for good?"

Would you stop a purse thief if you could?
What if the only way you could stop the crime or catch the criminal was to be dressed as a girl?
Would your desire to do good trump your disdain for playing the opposite sex?

I realize that is probably not at all the point behind the show, but it still popped into my mind after reading all the uproar about it. Really, how big of a deal is the cross dressing compared to the reason for the cross dressing?

Ok seriously ..

I just watched the first episode of the series and I learned...

You all need to lighten the hell up .

http://pollystreaming.com/SheZow-Season-1-Episode-1-SheZow-Happens-Coldfinger_v17734

tmleader is right it's transvestite not transgender... ( we expect the anti guns to learn the difference between a clip and a magazine.... ) he dresses like a girl superhero. and he's not happy about it ( other then having super powers and super hero toys )

if you think this advances some " agenda" I guess you thought the same about "bosom buddies" back in the 80's .... Or "Mrs Doubtfire" in the 90's

Seeing as in the first episode the main character's sister makes fun of him .. as well as his best friend... they are not trying to advance an agenda... it's comedy pure an simple.
