I don't know about Carl but that was a great movie. The boat is a Klepper kayak made specially for Special Forces, the Marines, Seal Teams and Delta Ops.

In have two Klepper Aerius II kayaks and have used them extensively in several western states including on the Yukon and the Savonoski rivers. Outstanding 'boats', both ocean and river capable.
