Ya, less than a block from my house. It's contained and so is the second one about 600 yds north of the one by my house. Train dragging a locked up wheel throwing sparks. [Mad]
Thank god CR spays to have a helo with a water drop bucket on it. It saved dozens of houses and lives today.
That happens quite a bit here in C rock. I feel like the past couple summers there's been a fire sparked because of the train.
Jesus. This whole state needs a really good, long soaking rain.
That's scary.

about a block from my house. Less than 4 minutes to walk to this spot. This was the small but way too close fire.

This is the big fire just north. This almost took out houses. cant find the good pic of it now. Meh, you get the picture...
Ruined my day on the Boat you wimps, took us 3 hours to kill both of them dead.
Rampart Helicopters has an exclusive contract with the county for helicopter services including wildland fire support, I know the pilot pretty good, I have repeatedly offered to pay him to drop some water on my team....
I think total was 45 acres burned or something....
anyway South Metro, Castle Rock, Jackson 105, Larkspur and Bear Creek Canyon Handcrew worked this in addition to Rampart Helo...

Not just Caste Rock, the trains run the length of Douglas County north to south and you are very correct, its pretty common, we had a good one a couple years ago near Keene Ranch that we had to evacuate a horse stables(NOT FUN) then I almost got my hard hat taken off by the SEAT bomber, that guy was another kind of suicidal, I swear he landed that plane with a tree in his grill, not sure if thats possible but I am not kidding!!
