View Full Version : This is how Zombies happen....

Interesting (at least to me).
Made me think of the show they did (can't remember the cable channel, but it was very recent) that was meant to be an almost serious discussion of what could cause a "real" zombie outbreak to happen, and one of the potential "causes" speculated on was the idea of a government genetic or weapoonized program of some kind getting released accidentally.

(I'm probably in a minority, but I don't generally get the outrage over genetically modified crops. I think that if it's tested and shown to be safe for consumption, go for it. We've selectively bred crops and animals for millenia, this is just the next stage in developing a better product)
Nah, a genetically modified rabies virus or other mutated viral outbreak will start it, not food.
Me too. The only issue I have with genetically modified plants is the control over their seeds. When they control the seed supply, they control the food supply... which I find unacceptable.

Same here!
My mom's friend in KS is married to a farmer, he uses *gasp!* GMO seeds... those crops pay the bills and go on his family's dinner table. After 45 years of farming their still a picture of health.

Monsanto = not dumb.
Monsanto = not dumb.
not from a business standpoint they're not... but that doesn't comfort me when considering their efforts to wipe out all of their competition and have a monopoly in the seed market. I think it's important that anyone who wants to try, should be able to grow their own produce.

STFU, Carl!
Allow me to clarify that I find the story, and the alarmist attitude about it interesting. Can't say I'm losing any sleep over GMO crops.....
Does bring up the point of why the hell they can't keep something contained if that was the intention, though....
Monsanto = Geniuses made of pure evil.

LOL... Row row, row your boat!
Are you aware the autism rates in America are around 1/150? 20 years ago before GMO was put into the food supply, it was 1/25,000.
Europe does not allow GMO,and they don't have the high autism rates. Europe bans GMO for a good reason. Lots of tests on GMO in the news, and its bad bad stuff.
Oh, whats really funny. GMO food is NOT ALLOWED in the MONSANTO CAFETERIA.
But its ok for you? Fan-tas-tic!
And a whole bunch of kids got polio during the summer years ago so the .gov decided that polio was caused by ice cream (true story).
No love for Monsanto here.
I'd bet that if there are GMO seeds in the seed repository, they are in sealed containers. Just like all the other seeds.
Governments have horrible record when it comes to containing potentially dangerous stuff. The Parvovirus that kills thousands of dogs every year is the result of a containment failure by a lab in Australia. If you want a real chiller, google "ebola Reston" [zombie1]

I also believe this is a possibility
Yea, could be raw milk related, they didn't know
And MONSANTO STILL BANS ITS OWN GMO CRAP GARBAGE POISON FOOD from its cafeteria. But hey, that means more for you!
Uhm, can you figure that one out?
Nah, it's this: http://www.cnn.com/2012/03/19/world/africa/uganda-nodding-disease
Severe epilepsy-like seizures grip the children, they struggle to eat, and they become shells of their former selves. It is a progressive and debilitating syndrome that robs children of their future.
The seizures are triggered in strange ways, say community members, such as when unfamiliar food is brought to the children or when the weather changes.
There are other bizarre symptoms. Often the children will wander off by themselves and get lost in the bush. And other children will start fires, according to parents and medics in the field. Others appear confused and traumatized.
People who gripe about genetically modified food, but eat corn or almonds are hypocrites. Actually, go ahead and throw in apples and strawberries as well.

The Hot Zone. Very well aware of it and the "hushed" aftermath.
The movie Contagion, It happens 24/7 world wide. Fortunately a strain has not mutated enough, YET, that is resistant to any form of antibiotic. Hand Washing, 30 sec minimum, not a quick splash of water then wiping hands dry on your clothes, is just the start of fending off harmful pathogens.
There are actually plenty of products that are not GMO's. You just have to look. You spend a lot more money for the organic shit, but, you can find it (no I'm not saying that "organic" stuff is all non GMO, but the stuff we have found that isn't GMO is usually "organic"). You can also pick it up locally, or grow your own from seed that isn't GMO.
EDIT: To be "certified" organic, the FDA has to say that the organic food, is not of GMO nature (and a bunch of other things). Of course, if you read on, you will see why I think the FDA is just another full of shit organization part of the government.

To add to your reply. Folks are "worried about GMO's. Here's a ? for ya.
How many read the label on items you buy in the grocery store? Most of the spices, even seafood, it all comes from China! OR other pacific rim country like Vietnam, Indonesia, etc. How quickly folks forgot the fukyourama nuclear plant disaster. You think that shit hasn't contaminated 1/2 the pacific ocean.
Yep GMO's "horrible" That ocean perch and Mahi mahi, "freshly caught" in the China Sea.
Thats why I try to grow a lot of my own food.
Personally I think the GMO shit is bad for you. Our bodies a very complex computers and we give input codes(DNA of food) to our bodies. When we eat GMO food we are using corrupted input codes thus causing our operating systems to malfunction.
These rats were fed GMO food and look at the tumors that are growing on them.

They are not just making strains that are heat resistant or drought resistent but they are engineering pesticides into them which kill the insects that eat them, which they claim doesn't affect us. I have a hard time believing that pesticides won't affect us in any way.....
I personally believe GMO foods are why we have lots of gut disorders, allergies, etc.
GMO is not good for you and the human race is messing with the genetic codes of this world. We are playing with fire and we are gonna get burnt.

There is so much shit that goes on with GMO's... it's not even funny. Most of the population has no idea of what they eat anymore though. As Jim said, a lot of the other crap people eat, comes from places that are much worse... Still, the case of the lab rats from the longest running GMO study ever done, it lasted for two years. Before the lab rat study, the longest GMO test ever only went on for 244 days. Most other GMO studies only lasted for 90 days. They have only tested for acute affects, but not one till the lab rat test ever tested for chronic affects. The thing about GMO's, is that they are patented, and they can control who test them, and what tests can be done on them here in the states. It also says a lot that the higher ups in Monsanto eat organic food.... How many people on this forum even know the depths of Monsanto, and the people who work for them, and then work for other companies that are supposed to be looking after Monsanto? If you want to inspire a conspiracy theory in yourself, look into Monsanto more, holy shit.....
Here are some interesting tid bits...
Senior Vice President for Clinical Affairs at Monsanto Michael A. Friedman, is now the Acting Commissioner of the FDA.
Top Monsanto Scientist that oversaw the approval of rBGH, Margaret Miller, was appointed Deputy Director of FDA in 1991.
The attorney for Monsanto for 7 years, previous Head of Monsanto Washington D.C. Office Michael Taylor was in 2010 appointed Senior Advisor to FDA Commissioner.
Former Monsanto Lawyer Clarence Thomas was appointed to U.S. Supreme Court in 1991.
Anne Veneman served on board of directors at Calgene, a Monsanto Biotech subsidiary, and was appointed head of USDA in 2001.
Monsanto's Vice President of public and government affairs Linda Fisher, was appointed Deputy Administration in the EPA.
Ever wonder why nothing bad ever comes of the "testing" of most GMO foods?
That's just the beginning....

Genetically modified virus plague? Makes me think of AIDS...zombies will probably come from NY courtesy of the US taxpayer...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plum_Island_(New_York)
Oh... I forgot....
Most of Monsanto's GMO crops are registered as insectisides, like BT corn.
Ever wonder how they make these plants? The way they make these new modified plants is by injecting new information into their DNA structure, they have to invade the plants DNA. How do they do this? By using the best "invaders" they know of, viruses and bacteria. The most common bacteria they use is Ecoli. Yes, Ecoli is a common part of GMO foods now. That's just the beginning though. So, what they do is modify, inject the bacteria with the new genetic code to do what they want. Now, the bacteria has the genetic code needed to do what the scientists want (that was a very fast explanation of the bacteria change). To get the new DNA into the plant is tricky. The plants cells have defense protocals that won't allow the new DNA into the cell, it rejects it... So, how do they get the new DNA into the plant cells to reproduce? The most common way is to give a plant that they want to change, cancer... Cancer cells get overlooked by the plant, just like by the human body. That's why they use cancerous cell DNA to do their dirty work. Luckily for Monsanto, Ecoli, and the other pathogens they use, cause cancer in most plants when directly injected with the modified pathogen's DNA. After the injected plant gets cancer from the direct injection (put the genetic information directly into a full grown plant), they take these new cancer cells, and disect them to pull out its DNA. So, they then take the cancerous cells genetic information, and inject it into the regular cells of the developing plant, that won't reject the new DNA now. That, is how your GMO food is made....

FDA does not show it to good for you, just not harmful in limited qty.
Look at Aspertame. Breaks down to Methanol and Formaldehyde in the human body. Interesting one of the key reasons FDA says its OK, is because Methanol is found in fruits. However, they never address that when found in fruits, its bound to Pectin, which our bodies cannot break that bond, thus we pass it thru. Where in the case of free Methanol we absorb it. If you look back you'll find a number of folks died during prohibition because they accidentally produced methanol, and a whole 100ml, about 4oz is lethal. But ingesting it daily thru diet, and sugar free is OK? Do what you want, but Im not going to make lifelong decisions based on a few month of studies that say something is safe.

My philosophy is to use the more natural stuff in moderation. Diet Coke with aspartame is not an excuse to drink a "liter a cola" a day. Sugar is pretty much sugar...or is there GMO sugar now?
3 1/2 years ago I started having digestive issues the the max. After countless tests, a colonoscopy and finally an upper endoscopy it was determinded I have Celiac disease. The ONLY treatment is to quit eating wheat products. You know how bad that sucks? No beer or pizza. Things are better these days because they are really getting up to speed about gluten free stuff but I really miss and actual Coors and a deep dish wheat pizza. I firmly believe this genically modified wheat crap is a bigger issue than anyone knows. I never had an issue until I hit my mid 50's and it came on overnight. It sucks getting old but I am not experiencing any zombie symptoms yet. It might be the tequila keeping it at bay. Oh and impeach Obama.
GMO sugar beets, you can google GMO free diet or something and get a list of GMO crap, its in everything. They also keep fighting labeling. Shopping at Trader Joes or Whole Foods is no guarantee, you have to basicly go 'organic' to get away from it. Some states have passed labeling laws also.
