22-23 May Pikes Peak Practical Shooters will host an Area/Regional Steel Challenge match.

All 8 of the book Steel Challenge Stages will be used.

You shoot each stage 5 times and we throw out your worst run. A mulligan of sorts.

The minimum round count is 200 rounds.

Stages will be set up by Friday before lunch and we can shoot until last light Friday. Shooting will start no later than 8:00 Saturday morning. 4 of the stages can also be shot two days earlier at the Wednesday afternoon match. A practice day of sorts...

You get a free t-shirt and lunch Saturday.

Cash payback to those that do well. All profits after expenses go back to the shooters.

With no prize table I am able to keep the match fee low.

An application is also avail here.

and some more info is avail here.

It is looking like the match will be professionally taped. The video-master is going to try and make sure he gets a run or two of every shooter on the final product.

Get those apps in. Help me help you.

Charlie Drissel (http://www.co-ar15.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=142) has also signed up as a match sponsor. He is also a forum Industry Partner so keep him in mind when you go to spend your $$$.

I had a couple cancelations last week, so there is still some slots for Friday and Saturday.

How long do you think it will take to shoot the match?

Friday has fewer people signed up, so Friday maybe 4-5 hours.

Saturday will start at 8:00 and I hope to have everyone on the road headed home by 3:00.

Keep you gear ready, Stay happy, help pick up brass, time or write down scores.
Your squad will move faster and you should be done with the match pretty quick.

A while back I mentioned that the match was going to be professionally videotaped and a DVD would be avail to anyone that wants one for a very reasonable price.

Well the video guy and I worked out a price of $12 per DVD.

He has assured me that he will make every effort to ensure that the final product has at least one run from every shooter on it. Your chance to be famous.

Please let me know if you are interested in buying one so I can give him a heads up.

Just a short note to let everyone know whats up.

Squadding. We are going to try Open Squadding. Grab no less than 5 people and head to an empty stage. Shoot it and move on. Think of it like a Glock match of sorts. But please no less than 5 on a "squad."

Video. The match is going to be professionally videotaped. $12 per DVD. I sent out a "Who wants one, yes or no" email a few days ago and only a few responded. Help me out here and let me know yes or no.

Set-up. All 8 stages will be set-up by mid-morning Friday and will officially be ready to shoot no earlier than lunch time Friday. However, if you get there earlier and the stages are up, I wont stop you from getting ahead of the curve.

Saturday. Saturdays shooting will begin no earlier than 8:00 with a 7:45 shooters meeting. We will shoot until 11:00 and stop for lunch. When you and your stomach are happy, feel free to get back out there and start shooting again. Once the shooting has started Saturday, no walk in registrations will be allowed, period.

Awards. Several companies have donated stuff to the match including Smith & Wesson which has thrown in some guns. The top 3 shooters in divisions with more than 10 shooters will get cash. I have about $3000 to give out. Special awards for Top Lady, Junior, Cop, ect will get plaques. Prizes, to include the guns, will be at random drawing. If I call your name for something and you are not there, I will mail it to you. So if you want to shoot and scoot, thats cool.

I hope to have everyone on the road by 2:00-3:00 Saturday.

I thought it was great also. I manage to shoot 3 guns all the way thru and then the rain came with one two stages left in pistol calibre carbine. I decided to come home anyway. Hoser thanks for a great self squading match!!!!!!

What a great match.

Where else can you see single action cowboy revolvers, .22 rifles and pistols, revolvers with red dots, suppressed carbines, and of course the usual variety of pistols seen shooting IPSC, all in the same match.
