In my opinion, this the way to do it if it will save an innocent life. No BS'ing around with these thugs. I hope the cop will be OK, he did the right thing.

Dramatic surveillance video from a Walmart in Midwest City, Okla., shows a heroic police officer saving a 2-year-old girl from the clutches of a deranged knife-wielding man. He did so by shooting the criminal at point-blank range, killing him. According to police, 37-year-old Sammie Wallace grabbed a toddler from her mother’s shopping cart and held a knife to her throat. Police released video and 911 audio from the June 17 incident last week.
Believing that the child had been harmed by Wallace, a heroic police officer, Capt. David Huff, shot the man at point-blank range. The child was unharmed in the horrifying ordeal.
Wallace had no prior connection to the child or her mother, police said.
<sniff> I love happy endings!

The good guys win.
Disappointed the official police department response.
1) Cop had to check to see if he had a round loaded? Doubt it, he went around the corner to conceal drawing the weapon.
2) He thought the child was being stabbed when he shot? No he didn't, he was doing what he knew he had to do to save her.

The Video clearly shows him drawing the weapon he didn;t already have it in hand ...
He very well might have ducked back at one point and double checked the gun.....might pyshced himself out wondering if it was unloaded for some reason...

Shitbag - 0
Cops - +1
i am sure all the Cop bashers here will find fault in the officer's actions.

You are correct. I was thinking he drew it and was holding it at his side.
Being that the officer was a Captain, he may not carry his weapon chambered that often so he may not have been positive it was ready. I'm glad he capped the fool, needs to happen more often.

I figured this or he might be one of those guys that goes home and unloads the gun for the night...
then as he is thinking of blowing this shitbirds brains all over the dairy section freaks out in the back of his head going " crap did I rack the slide after I put the mag back in this morning ? ... if I didn't... this little girl is dead I have one shot... better check to make sure "

Thank god! We need many more people In our society like this police officer.
I'm sure there will be plenty of outrage in the community about how the racist white cop murdered the poor underprivileged yoof with the medical condition, who was just trying to get his life together.....Jesse Jackson is probably there already.

I saw this on the news yesterday morning, and was surprised at how much they talked to him. I know it is their job to resolve issues without "violence," but as much area as he had exposed, fuck that guy.
As the father of a 2 year old girl this put a serious knot in my stomach. I'm so glad that Captain was there, ready and willing to do what needed to be done.
Just one more example why we carry our guns everywhere, everyday!

No show trial, no mental evaluations, no questions about whether or not his mother breast fed him enough as a baby. Problem solved though the suspect was most likely "trying to get his life in order" or "was a good guy." Plus like a previous post said, it would not surprise me if accusations of racism come up just because every single person who wasn't there knows what should have been done.

LOL.. you guys always do this.. like 3 posts in to any thread mentioning cops, you throw that out there.. why not wait for some retard to actually bash cops in this thread, where the captain CLEARLY did the right thing, and then light the person up... lol...
anyway, be a hero, save a life, make your shots... good job captain..
