Just received this nice blade. Threads had been speaking about the worth of "Custom" knifes, so heres one
I had made as a user. I drew it up. Made a few plywood mock ups getting the shape just right. Sent the drawing
and specs to the knifemaker and i got this finished product back in three weeks.
This one is an experiment as it was fashioned by stock removal from 1095 and i wanted it harder then usual.
The books say hardening at 400f should net a hardness around 62-63rc so im going to use it hard and see how it holds up.
Anyhow, 7" blade, 5 1/2" handle. 2" height. 1/4" 1095. Black Micarta, Texturized. The blade was polished and then finished in a "Forced" Patina.
Total investment with Heavy Leather Horizontal Sheath.....$250
I'm thinking worth every penny.
