I need a good recipe for beans. My Nana used to make this bbq bean thing with 20 different kinds of beans in it, some sausage, etc. I'm sure you guys have had something similar before. But I've never been able to replicate it.

Nana kicked ass. She was the first one ever to put a gun in my hand and told me to go kill the dang squirrels eating hear bird food. No sissy BBs either... she gave me the good stuff. Pellets baby.

Probably just head over to Margaret Carpenter park and hang out for a bit, can't stay for the fireworks with the little one, unless I can find baby ear muffs lol.

Not a fan of fireworks. I usually spend the 4th in the basement play really loud video games. It's not the sound, it's the concussion from them.

Got the inlaws in town, gonna go to the lake and watch the show then come home and light a few for the kids.

BBQ and beer. The usual. Gotta save the tannerite for vacation.

That sounds like a lot of fun. I now live in an apartment, so I can't get stupid with it (have 4 12" subs), but I can at least rattle the plates during the day. I seem to have decently cool neighbors, I don't complain about their stuff during the day, they don't complain about mine.

Used to have a couple subs in the trunk of the car. It wasn't the sound I enjoyed, it was the concussion it produced...

My uncle is the mayor of a small town in northern WY, so every year we drive up there. We block off his street, and all the coal miners work overtime for a month or two and end up socking away enough money for entire truck beds full of fireworks. I'll take our fireworks display over any pro show any day.

Man I love 4th of July [Coffee]

Tomorrow will be the BBQ day with a case of hard cider, a brisket and 5 racks of baby back ribs with apple wood chips providing the smoke.

Yep! Going shooting with the family and then grilling some brats and burgers for the 4th. Picked up 6 racks of baby backs and a whole brisket for this weekend.

I'll eat a carrot stick to round out my diet.

'Q with some friends on the 4th... catch the SkySox fireworks show afterwards.

It may be lame, but I can watch it from the yard.

Maybe swing by Stag and pick up some stogies. Some range time and a bicycle ride (or two) to complete the weekend.

I'm not sure if we'll do anything yet. Every time I've asked what the plan is, the answer has been "clean the house!"

Some %$#!@@!!! fools in the neighborhood are setting off fireworks just up the street from us. Bona fide fireworks, just at the treelines. It's still dry here, dammit. Not to mention the fact that it's waking people up.

Inconsiderate asshats.

We were going to go walk the park and check things out, but our hike in Rocky mountain took longer than expected.

I've been meaning to join the rec center, but the wife is still trying to locate a full punch card that would sign us both up for like $4.

If you pay the five bucks for an ID card (lasts two years), it is only $4 per visit for you. There is the punch card, but I don't know what it does.

I definitely need the ID, in talking with the front desk, if I do the 1 year membership, it was going to break down to around $35 a month for the wife and I. I try to work out 5 days a week, so $4 a pop would break me lol.

Happy Independence Day!
[Salute]

Family in town - finished the frijoles borrachos and pulled pork last night, making tamales from most of it. Put on the brisket @ 4 this morning, baby backs, chicken, sausage, brats, etc. to follow. Working on the corn on the cob, potato salad, cole slaw and smoked mac&cheese shortly. Beer & BBQ - doesn't get any better!

Prolly head over and catch Thorntons show tonight, but going shooting in the meantime.

I'm with ya Grey.....in this neighborhood, NOBODY should be lighting anything off, especially airborne stuff.
