Jason Everman's story has been floating around for a few years. It's a bit of a human interest piece but it's also an interesting story if you haven't seen it. Life takes some folks strange places.

Wow that was really interesting, thanks for posting!
I bet all the kids that did undergraduate courses with him had no idea they were studying with a former member of Nirvana/Soundgarden [and sadly, these days they probably wouldn't have cared]

I thought it was pretty cool too! Dude wore a Motorhead shirt in Afghanistan- that's like the Czech soldier we frequented the gym with on our FOB who always wore an AC/DC shirt- he loved "American rock muzik" (he pronounced it 'moo-sik')
