A message from the Basic Freedom Defense Fund:
On July 3rd, the Secretary of State's office rejected Senator John Morse's argument that more than 10,000 citizens' signatures should be thrown out. The validity of our effort was found to be legal and Constitutional, and we were cleared to move forward with Colorado's first-ever Recall election.
However, immediately following the announcement, the Morse camp implied that they will sue for an injunction with the same intent of grinding us down with legal costs until we literally cannot afford to fight back. Rather than let the recall proceed and allow the voice of Colorado to be heard in an undeniable, public venue, Morse and his party will continue to drag us into court over minutiae, playing legal games and delaying justice for the people of his own district as long as legally possible. Not satisfied with simply ignoring his constituency, he is now bent on maliciously silencing them entirely.
Against all odds, we delivered more than enough signatures to force a recall - a nearly impossible feat, to be sure, and something that no one has ever done in 137 years. But without financial support, we cannot carry this much further. We will continue to fight these challenges as long as we can but we are average citizens with limited - and now nearly exhausted - resources.
Now we need your help.
We cannot continue to do this without your active participation in paying for the legal defense against Senator Morse's attacks. We are asking you to help us support the burden of our freedoms, to show that the consent of the governed is not optional and to prove that average citizens do have the ability to hold politicians accountable for their actions.
Please answer this call to arms. Go to http://www.basicfreedomdefensefund.org/ and donate whatever you can today.
With Sincerest Thanks,
The Basic Freedom Defense Fund
These guys knocked it out of the ballpark getting all those signatures. The recall election is close and these guys need money to help with court costs. If you can do donate.

Are these guys actually on our side or do we just have a common enemy right now? Their site really only covers the Morse recall. What else are they about?
This is what they sent me after I donated
BFDF was born in February of 2013 and consisted of barely more than a half-dozen Coloradans who were outraged after watching our elected legislators - the very people hired to represent us - utterly dismiss some of the strongest opposition to proposed bills that had ever been seen here and simply buffalo through unwanted laws. Neither we nor the thousands who wrote, called, emailed and personally met with the lawmakers to object were anything but average citizens. We have real, non-political jobs. We support families. We pay taxes. We don't ask for any special treatment or favors. We just want to be left alone so we can be productive members of our communities and enjoy our lives in peace.
But that wasn't in the cards this time.
So we found each other and threw in together for a common and just cause. We learned - and are still learning - the political ropes and formalized our lessons learned. We made a plan and are executing it. We all still support our families and work for a living but we also volunteer every possible second to see this effort through. Each of us has now taken on the equivalent of a second and unpaid full-time job - some of us even more. We've taken time away from our children and loved ones; sacrificed what used to be thought of as free time; put startup businesses, side jobs and personal goals on indefinite hold while we fight. Some of us have lost out on family moments and business opportunities that will never come around again. But our freedom is worth it. So is yours.
The fact of life is that money really does make the world go 'round and it's the lifeblood of any venture with a chance of success. However much or little you donated, it was necessary and it was critical to our cause. Every dollar counts and, by donating, you've joined us in our fight and made our uphill battle that much easier. We're strengthened by your support and want you to know how much we appreciate the fact that you took the time and initiative to stand by us.
So... thank you for your recent donation to The Basic Freedom Defense Fund. We're honored.
Very Sincerely Yours,
-The Basic Freedom Defense Fund

They are all about fighting unconstitutional laws. They depend on donations to fight stuff and I have donated and will again. They aren't really on any one side other then the constitution and what's right.
Just donated as well.
Morse you chicken shit coward, just step down!!

Is there a limit to how much an individual can donate to a recall? I gave when they first started, but had a good overtime month in June and feel the urge to kick Morse and Giron in the daddy and mommy parts again.

There is no limit to how much you can donate but they need name and address if you donate over $20, need more information if you donate over $200 (or is it $250? I forget) to comply with election laws.

I don't believe there is, this isn't a political election fund. this is a defense fund for legal/lawyer fees. even then they could start a PAC and you could donate as much as you want.

HENRY HIGGINS: Do you know, Pickering, if you think of a shilling ... ... not as a simple shilling, but as a percentage of this girl's income ... ... it works out as fully equivalent of ... ... sixty or seventy pounds from a millionaire. By George, it's enormous. It's the biggest offer I ever had. ELIZA DOOLITTLE: Sixty pounds? What are you talkin' about? Where would I get sixty pounds?
Thank you for what you were able to do.

I gave them $30 for a 1 year membership that was also supposed to include a pmag. Never got the mag or any emails besides we need more money.

That's why I won't be renewing my membership... I'll send money to the NRA-ILA or NAGR.

NAGR is Dudley Brown as well. Last few emails from NAGR have had his signature to them. http://www.nationalgunrights.org/top-news/459-explosion/item
Just donated, and will continue to do so until these Bloomberg wannabes are out of office!
Done and posted on my company FB.

Guys, I don't want to do to RMGO or NAGR as I feel they have done to the NRA. All three organizations attract members who are satisfied with their positions and what they do. Can't we skip the division and concentrate on the mutual enemies? This kind of division is what got Morse and Hickenlooper and Obama in office in the first place and it only serves their ends.

Alright guys, the Basic Freedom Defense Fund is about protecting constitutional rights, and has nothing to do with Dudley Brown, so lets keep him out of this. Thank you to all of you who have donated to this cause. We MUST remove Morse from office and without enough money and the proper support, Bloomberg will win.
Donated, and made up an email to send out to everyone on my email list. This is really the best thing that we could hope for politically. It sends a loud and clear message to other politicians and it ruins the political future of this ass hat.

Even $10/15/25 helps so please consider sending something now! http://www.basicfreedomdefensefund.org/
All CO grassroot orgs legal defense funds in the Morse/Giron recalls are now combined/fighting tyranny. If nothing else, firing a warning shot and "we're" up against HUGE B-turd/demoncrap $$!

I am a NRA Benefactor member and I have gotten zero response in the emails I have sent off about getting the NRA behind this. When I am out in NoVA next week I am thinking about stopping by the main office just so I can get someone to listen.
Who have you been trying to reach and how?

Please keep us updated. This is exactly the thing that irks me about these huge organizations that are supposed to be there for us, the dues-paying members!
