A CBS journalist reported on Weds that John Kerry spent the day on his yacht while Egypt was in full coup. Not a big deal, right? The guy can't help if some country decides to overthrow their government on the very same day he plans a vacation. No problem there IMO.
But the State Department denied it fully.

Also this
Kerry spokesperson Jen Psaki denied the report.“Since his plane touched down in Washington at 4 am, Secretary Kerry was working all day and on the phone dealing with the crisis in Egypt,”
The reporter stuck to his guns and reaffirmed Kerry was in fact on his yacht that day. And today the Boston Herald released these photos.

So NOW they retract their denial.
“While he was briefly on his boat on Wednesday, Secretary Kerry worked around the clock all day including participating in the president’s meeting with his national security council,” spokeswoman Jen Psaki said (http://www.politico.com/politico44/2013/07/reversing-denial-state-says-kerry-was-briefly-on-boat-167653.html).
Why does our government have to LIE about EVERYTHING? Even the most insignificant issues? Who cares if he was on his boat??? I sure don't. But I do care about them lying constantly! If they lie about every single minor issue, why would any American expect them to tell the true on the most important issues???

The constant lies over even the smallest things allow for more distractions from the bigger things going on. I wave my hand in front of your face while stealing your wallet & watch. Sort of a wag-the-dog scenario. Americans have a very limited and short time span ability to focus on anything. Once we see a shiny object that catches out attention we forget about the more important issues. In fact, by focusing on Kerry, we...

What really gets me isn't so much that they lie -- hell, they're politicians, I expect it -- it's that their lies are so stupid, so transparently false, that I find it insulting they didn't spend 5 minutes working up better ones. I mean seriously, Sasha and Malia could probably come up with better ones.

I'm not sure this is it. They wave their hand, steal our wallet and we say "hey, you just stole my wallet." They say "no we didn't" and walk away. We just don't chase. We say "hey, isn't someone going to stop that guy? Bueller? Bueller? Anyone? OK, guess I'll have to get a new wallet."
They say "these aren't the droids you're looking for." We say "yup, those are exactly the ones we're looking for." But we don't arrest them.

This is how I feel. We are so beaten down and trained that nothing we do can change the status quo that they don't even have to try anymore. They KNOW we aren't going to do shit. I have come to the conclusion that these guys sit around drinking beer laughing about who told the dumbest, most obvious lie and didn't get run out of town. It's like a game of chicken at this point.

Yup. The biggest surprise I have had with Beeho's presidency is the utter brazenness that they lie and openly do unconstitutional stuff. They don't even need to respond to it when it comes up in the press. What they are proving is literally they can get away with anything with no real repercussions. In fact, the number of scandals - both minor and major - creates such confusion that most of it just gets lost in the noise. Then the next shiny object comes along (wildfires, egypt, syria, torrorist bombings, etc) and it is back out of the news cycle.
