I tried searching, and didn't see anything about this, so if it's a repost, slap me silly. Story is, agreement for 15k ruskies to come over in an emergency/disaster to assist around the DC corridor

They're probably trying to have mass panic spread across Russia. The fear of bringing back liberalism with them..... lol

The US did in fact sign an agreement for joint help between the Russian's and US (DHS I believe) during national disasters. They have been discussing it for years. However I have read nothing legitimate regarding troop numbers, ect I have only read that the two countries will share "experts". It has gone nearly completely un-reported but there was a Russian news site that reported the signing of the agreement. There was also mention of the meeting on the .gov website. I found links early this week and will add them to my post here.

EDIT:

It wasn't a Russian news site, it was a Russian government site. Here is the Russian government's official news report of the meeting.

http://en.mchs.ru/news/item/434203/

The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry and the USA Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) are going to exchange experts during joint rescue operations in major disasters. This is provided by a protocol of the fourth meeting of the U.S.-Russia Bilateral Presidential Commission Working Group on Emergency Situations and seventeenth meeting of Joint U.S.-Russia Cooperation Committee on Emergency Situations, which took place in Washington on 25 June.

In addition, the parties approved of U.S.-Russian cooperation in this field in 2013-2014, which envisages exchange of experience including in monitoring and forecasting emergency situations, training of rescuers, development of mine-rescuing and provision of security at mass events.

I thought the part in bold above was interesting.

And earlier this week I found nothing more than a simple listing on the DHS/FEMA calendar regarding the meeting but no US news reports. I will try to find the FEMA link again.

EDIT#2: Found more this time. Here's a link (http://www.state.gov/p/eur/ci/rs/usrussiabilat/c37332.htm) the the State Department's working group where you can find more links regarding some of the past meetings the group has had over the years. Here's a report of one of the group's activities...

On May 16 (2011), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) kicked off the National Level Exercise 2011 (NLE2011), which focused on a scenario involving a catastrophic earthquake in the central United States. In addition to multiple states, localities, and private partners working with a wide variety of federal agencies on their response to this type of catastrophic event, NLE2011 also included the active participation of six foreign governments—Canada, Mexico, Russia, Sweden, Israel and Chile—and the European Union. A key objective for the international partnership of NLE2011 was seeking global support for urgently needed relief supplies as well as the deployment of Urban Search and Rescue Teams to the U.S. to support FEMA’s 28 domestic teams. During the simulation, Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) supported the Exercise from its Central HQ in Moscow with an offer of the Moscow Air and Search Rescue Team, as well as a wide variety of relief supplies. http://www.state.gov/p/eur/ci/rs/usrussiabilat/168762.htm

I don't believe it, show me a more credible news source but according to snopes and about:

http://www.snopes.com/politics/conspiracy/russiansecurity.asp

http://urbanlegends.about.com/od/current/ss/Russian-Troops-To-Be-Deployed-On-US-Soil.htm

This announcement is about is that officials from both countries participating in an exchange program (this happens with many countries, when I was in the military I came across a few officer exchangees from foreign countries).

You guys seriously got to stop patronizing INFOWARS. Seriously put your tinfoil hats away.

I didn't find it. It was in an email... Can't say I agree with it, just thought it was fodder for 'discussion ' and perhaps a bit of ridicule.
