My car uses about a 3" o ring for the oil filter( european canister type); my guess is to go to an autoparts store and start opening up oil filter boxes until you find one or just ask one of the employees.

In the future, you can get a kit for making O-rings. Of course this isn't going to be as good as the proper part, but much easier to find on a Sunday afternoon if it is already sitting on the garage shelf.
Grainger has them too, but their website is down so I can't link.

Not that I can help you out, but when I read the title of the thread, I thought you were asking for "Large Onion Rings"...
Perhaps I'm hungrier than I thought.
My go to for all parts is McMaster-Carr. We always overnight parts for work, but I've never seen the shipping charges. You might be able to get a better shipping quote ahead of time if you called them to place the order.
It's not close, but Whistler Bearing in Co Springs should have them.

Do you have a Parker store (http://www.parker.com/portal/site/PARKER/menuitem.14ecfc66e7a40c1af8500f199420d1ca/?vgnextoid=43cb5242ade5c110VgnVCM10000032a71dacRCR D&vgnextfmt=EN&Keyword=O-Rings&wtky=O-Rings) near you?

Rocket seals would be my bet, if nothing else they have bulk material and can make one for you. I have walked away form there without what I wanted maybe 1 percent of the time. All they do is orings and seals.

You were not the only one Buff!
I the same when I first saw this thread on my phone, words small enough and mis-read as "Large Onion Rings", I was about ready to reply but realized last minute and saved face.
