M4 stock, if you like that look..go with a light Izzy build. Google is your friend!

Buttstock? [Coffee]

It looks like your standard, run of the mill 6-position collapsible stock. Although its got a smaller footprint than most, someone can point out the brand I'm sure.

Are the military's M4 stock 6 position now? The one with slots on the side, or whatever.

Should be a 4-position CAR stock.

I thought that was the CAR-15 stock. Not an Izzy clone, ours from Vietnam.

You might be right. For some reason I always picture car15 with triangle HG.

.Actually thay are called / referenced as Fiberlite stocks They are both 2 (very early) and 4 position units. That one looks like a Colt, BM had them on the xm177's

Am I missing something here? How is the stock 2, or 4, or 6 position? Isn't that based on the buffer tube?

Or are you talking about buying it as a unit with the tube included?

OP, I'll trade you stock and tube for a regular 6 position tube.

I "believe" he was asking about the whole stock assy. Some of the old [ not retro copies] units come up short when installed on newer tubes, by about this much < >

Wow op I was in the same boat last year but I did found a mil spec set, here's one

http://mapartsinc.com/shop/details.asp?id=1073&iCat=21&iSubOne=397&iSubTwo=408

The original colt was metal and worth big bucks, I believe palmetto also sell them.

I'm actually talking about just the stock not tube included, I have a mil-spec 6 postion tube on my AR, but I want a unique looking stock.

I know you don't want the whole assembly, but I honestly haven't found any place selling just the stock. Reason I posted that link was the stock on that site is mil spec while you said all you can find is commercial. The car15 stock seems pretty small to me though.

Izzy clone. The originals used the CAR aluminum stock and later ones the fiberlite. Jerry, good reference! God bless the women of the IDF... [Beer]
I am not a fan of the "classic" AR look (carry handle, FSP, standard CAR stock). But I will say the standard stock issued with M4s, not very comfortable butt plate.

I'm an AK fanboy, I think AR butt plate is comfortable enough.
