This fall I am going to start the process of turning my backyard into a permaculture garden. The dirt back there is typical Colorado sandy hard clay. I am going to try and dig out about two feet of the dirt and replace it with compost and soil. I will be looking for a source for quality compost and soil that is made with material that is herbicide and pesticide free. Does anyone know of a good source?

Llama crap is supposed to be some good stuff for compost. Unlike most other manure it doesn't need to be composted first. It can be spread directly in a garden.

green valley turf on Sante Fe south of 470 has bulk compost. I don't know if it's organic or even close to you, or if you're looking for a delivery or to haul it yourself.

I've heard you can get some from the Brighton water treatment facility. You just can't think about what it is....
