How about we collectively tell the Ice scraper vendors, peanut flavored turkey jerky vendors, and any other vendor not directly or even indirectly associated with GUNS to go back to mile high flea market.

There are more deserving of the space. We can buy our jerky on the way to and from the show.

I liked the guy selling spicy elk sausage. The rest are just fillers.

How about not going to show your distaste for the crap vendors? Thats what I do.

Vote with your wallets by not buying anything from those vendors.

Quick question, and sorry in advance because I am a gun noob kind of.
Im looking to purchase a bolt action, preferable of the 30/06 or .308 caliber, I was thinking that I want something accurate and reliable. I was eyballing remington 700's, or possible a savage arms rifle of sorts as both have good reputations......would tanner have some potentially good deals with this kind of stuff, or would I be better of going to a local mechant?
Any suggestions on local merchants? Any online suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Rem 700 is my favorite. But if it comes with a black stock you are going to get Obama price gauged. That being said you should start a new thread and get some opinions that way.

As long as you don't buy one out from under me, as that is exactly what I'm looking for as well. Check out Green Mountain Guns. I'll call the manager and let him know you're coming. ;)

Really there are very VERY few truly good deals there. It's been going down hill for a while and even with the new show owners it really hasn't gotten better. Don't buy mags there, hell don't really buy anything (unless it's from MGT or another board supporting vendor) just go and finger and feel up what you are thinking you want, then order it online or through one of our vendors!

If the nick nack vendors don't sell anything, they won't return. That is the answer.

Everyone keeps complaining about the shows, but most of us continue to go...
maybe to find that rare great deal. You just never know what you might find.

Its been a while since I have found a deal there. But I would go just to show my support for the gun show. I am not obligated to buy anything.

Perhaps I'm just showing my age here, but...

Do you remember when a gun show actually sold GUNS? I long for those days.

It must have been longer than I thought. But is it really that bad?

Oh, not at all (inject sarcasm here)

My wife picked up a lovely necklace and pair of earrings at the last show we went to a few weeks ago. We also got some whipped and regular Colorado harvested honey, and I checked out a few pair of nice canvas work gloves.

So does everyone want to meet up for lunch Saturday? I was thinking that would be cool. I mean we got to eat, we might as well do it together.

Hillbillies and gangbangers seem to be the main market for the show. Found some mags at OK prices. Some pistols at OK prices if you can get to the table and actually handle them.

Does anyone sell bulk 9mm and 5.56 (xm193 or PRVI) at the gun shows anymore (at an OK price)?

Do the nick-nack vendors pay the same price for a table? If they want to pay for a table space it is money the Tanner Show makes.

I like the cheap gloves the glove guy sells. I buy some of the cheap magnifying glasses, spring clamps, the small tool guy sells. I usually can't resist the Mountain Man candy.

I haven't been to the last couple of shows due to lack of funds and a dislike of crowds. I found out 5280 Armory isn't there anymore. Are all the spaces used up?

I stocked up on ammo before the prices went sky high. I bought the rifles I wanted before the prices jumped. I also believe that when the buying frenzy subsides the prices will go down.

My opinion FWIW

Thats funny you say that because I was like two booths over when that happend a few shows back. Wost part of it was I had my 14 month old son with me. Boy momma was pissed! And so was I. That was the last time I whent to a CO gunshow. Up in WY they are much better. Better people and better tables. Just smaller in size.

I was there the Saturday of the N.D. also, what a dumba$$.

At the 31st show, I did pick up two Lyman four bar solder moulds $8 and $5, a chunk of beeswax for getting into boolit casting. A couple of the moulds had solder in them, so bonus.

I talked a guy out of a Hornady LNL case activated powder drop mechanism a couple shows ago for $30, that is a smokin deal since I didn't have to pay tax or shipping.

Yes what happened? There were actually some deals this time around, and had to wait 20-30 minutes at some tables to purchase...

From what I heard and saw and I believe it was back in aug or sept last year a young kid handed over a small type pistol to a potential customer loaded and the trigger was pulled without checking chamber. I have heard the kid shot it but I wasn't looking in the direction until after I got up from cover. PTSD kicked in!

WOW! They usually check and strap the firearm at the door. Someone had to know it was loaded.
I was thinking you guys might be talking about the guy that asked to see the gun then headed on a dead run for the door. he didn't make it. ;)

It was a gun on display from a vendor. And I know the guy who tried the look and dash. He was going to my school. He got kicked out over it. HA HA, Loser from C.A.

I was one row over and directly in front of the n.d when it happened. I was a gentleman a few years older than myself that handed a pistol to guy mid to late twenties. The guy pulled the trigger and it went off. it was a small caliber something. A little to far to tell that, but it wasn't a standard frame pistol. Shaped like a Luger or a target pistol.

The shot went into the metal display case to who knows where and ended up in the chest of an older gentleman sitting in front of the table. They kept asking the guy if he was ok, and for the longest time he didn't say anything. I think he was taking inventory, making sure he didn't have any extra holes. Then he got up and he was fine. I was a good thing it hit the case first. I think it just scared the crap out of the old guy, hell it scared me.

The guy I was doing business with was as mad as anyone else, including myself after the shock wore off. Yelling about throw the vendor out for being an idiot, and so on and so forth.
