Bloomberg's Bus is coming to Colorado for a "Remembrance Event to Mark One-Year Anniversary of Aurora Theater Shooting"
Join Gun Rights Across America - Colorado on Friday, July 19th 2013 for a peaceful"counter rally" at 12:00PM. This will be in response to the infamous Bloomberg Bus "No More Names" tour. Here's a link to the press release from Mayor's Against Illegal Guns: http://e2.ma/message/xd4oc/xhv88b (http://e2.ma/message/xd4oc/xhv88b)
Smoky Hill Shelter
Cherry Creek State Park (East Entrance)
4201 S. Parker Road
Aurora, Colorado 80014
There is a $9 fee per vehicle to get into the park. After you pay, drive 0.8 miles ahead to the Smoky Hill Shelter, which is immediately after a sharp curve to the right. (If you get to the swim beach, you've gone a bit too far.)
There is parking around the area, if you want to carpool into the park (Parker Rd. & Quincy or Parker Rd. & Peoria)
After Bloomberg's press conference at noon featuring remarks from this group, participants will read the names of thousands of gun violence victims from across the country. This will last until 12:38 a.m. on Saturday, July 20th, when there will be a moment of silence at the exact time of the July 2012 shooting. (Yes, they really plan to be there for 12 hours reading names.)
Event is Part of "No More Names: National Drive to Reduce Gun Violence" Bus Tour; www.NoMoreNames.org (http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.NoMoreNames.org&h=6AQFhf_w6&s=1)
Hopefully this time they won't read names of terrorists and murderers, and pass them off as victims.
Please let other pro-gun groups and people know about this. We don't want Bloomberg to have more people there than gun supporters!
So far our confirmed guest speakers are:
Sheriff Justin Smith
Ken Clark with Grassroots Radio
I'll update this list when we know more.
Signs should be directed at Bloomberg and Governor Hickenlooper, Colorado State Senator John Morse and ANY Colorado mayor who is signed on as a member of MAIG, any Democrat legislator who voted for the anti-gun measures at the State Capitol this last session (careful, there were a few who voted with us-Tochtrop, Garcia and Lebsock).

If I'm not at work, I'll see if I can make this. I'd love to tell Bloomberg what I think of him to his face.
I'll see if I can get some time off. Got two people on my team out all week, so it's iffy.

It will be tough for me to get off of work, but if I can, I'll be there.

Since the Bloomberg people will be there reading names for over 12 hours, you can also stop by after work, to express your thoughts. The press will be there at noon, but some might hang around to see what happens during the 12 hours.
I'll see- but I'm a good hour, hour and 20 from Saudi Aurora, so it wouldn't be until about 1730/1800 by the time I get there...
I should be able to make it. We need to wear pro gun shirts and other items to show we are not part of their rally without the skulls or other "scary" symbols. You know it will make the news and that is what they will show if they can. I am thinking of wearing one of the Whittington shirts I have.

We will not be going near the bus. We will stay a safe distance away. : )
This will be a somber event; we don't want to be seen as insensitive to those whose loved ones were killed. But we will speak the truth that guns don't kill people - people do.
Bring signs letting Hick and Bloomberg know your disapproval of their gun control laws. Someone suggested that we bring Big Gulps (over 16 oz). ; )
Wonder if the bus tour will be spending extended time in the Chicago 'hoods.
May get them to read more victims like "Sum Ting Wong” and “Wi Tu Low"

Hahah!
There will be plenty of media coverage there. Since this rally will coincide with the anniversary of the Aurora Theater shooting, it will be used as an opportunity to paint pro gunners as insensitive, heartless bastards that couldn't care less about the victims. While that couldn't be further than the truth (for most), just don't be surprised when it happens!

Brobar, you are absolutely right. Our GRAA event will be a somber, respectful and peaceful one. Please pray that it will go this way. We invited other pro-gun groups and they will be there. If you stand with us, please abide by the policies below. : ) Come say "hi." I'll be in a pink shirt with a GRAA logo and long skirt. Alicia

Join "Gun Rights Across America - Colorado" on Friday, July 19th 2013 for a peaceful "counter rally" at 12:00PM. This will be in response to the infamous Bloomberg Bus "No More Names" tour.
Bloomberg will be giving his message about gun control. We want this to be a somber and respectful event. We don't want to be insensitive to those who have lost loved ones. We do want to share the truth that guns don't kill people - people do.
*You are encouraged to bring a sympathy card or flowers for those who lost loved ones.*

GRAA guest speakers include:
Sheriff Justin Smith
Ken Clark from Grassroots Radio
Come as early as you can, because if the park fills up with cars, they will not allow anymore to enter until someone leaves.
There is a $9 fee to get into the park per vehicle. Save money by carpooling. After you pay, drive ahead 0.8 miles to the Smoky Hill Shelter area. We will meet at the East part (the entry) of the Smoky Hill Shelter parking lot, to peacefully display our signs.
If parking lot gets full, additional parking is available at the swim beach, the Dixon picnic area, as well as throughout the park. (Request a map when you enter.) Park in designated parking areas only - not on the grass.
We will then move (either walk the short Smoky Hill Trail or you can drive around, but there may or may not be parking if you move) to our reserved spot (see link to map below): The White Tail Picnic Area on the swim beach, to listen to our speakers. Bring your own shade! This part of our event will last about one hour. Feel free to stay as long as you want though. The burn ban has been lifted and we are free to use the BBQ grills.
Be sure to bring:
Sunscreen, food and water, charcoal if you want to grill, and a hat, along with a sympathy card or flowers for the families who lost loved ones. Make a day of it by bringing the whole family, for a picnic at the beach.
If you can't make it at noon, you can still come after work, since Bloomberg's Bus is planning to be there until midnight reading names.
NO OPEN CARRY!
Please, help keep an eye out for people who might come to our peaceful event for the purpose of causing a disturbance to make pro-gun supporters look bad. If you see anything of concern, call Don 719-200-6797.

So it seems that those of us who made that rally to counter protest the gun grabbers are equal to the Westburo baptist stains.

You were horrbly, horribly insensitive. I'm sure that Mayor Bloomberg was just here for a memorial service, and had absolutely no intention of making this a political matter or waving the bloody shirt.

Thank you to those who came out to our rally. : )
Thank you for hosting the event.
Well that seemed to backfire. The media basically played it as a remembrance of the theater victims that the crazy gun people interrupted to support James Holmes. Should have thrown tacks down in front of that bus when it crossed into the state wherever it came from (not Chicago).

Interesting comments on there. The Move ons, commies and progressives can be a winy bunch. God I hope we kick their progressive asses in 2014. Show them who is irrelevant.

Would you really expect any less?
We are not playing against stupid people here. Ignorant, arrogant and naïve yes, but not stupid. They timed this stop to coincide with the anniversary of Aurora for a reason and knew damn well how any opposition would be spun, especially if they spoonfed the media the talking points.
We need to fight the smart fight here folks.
Like arresting Bloomberg on charges of being d bag. That should be illegal here.
I was there. We were peaceful and respectful. I went up and looked at what they were doing and it was sad. Not many there by the time I was up there. A lot more on the gun side. The part what made me cringe was the format. You had to register to go in (I happened to get around this) which I am sure could be used to say you were anti-gun. Then they had 'guards' in glasses etc, to chase people off. A guy on a bike (no affiliation either way) got chased off by a guard just for trying to see what was going on. They had a tag team reading where they repeatedly said a persons name, age and then "killed with a gun" and when. They were taking ANYBODY EVER KILLED with a gun. So what ended up happening was you heard "killed with a gun" "killed with a gun" "killed with a gun"........... It was scary in that it was a direct indoctrination technique.

When I read or here the stuff that comes out of the progressive mouth, I just want to step up and deliver a good swift kick to the nuts to just have a moment of silence and reflection.

What we need to do is come up with a "Saved by a Gun" rally......
So it seems that those of us who made that rally to counter protest the gun grabbers are equal to the Westburo baptist stains.

Well said in the comments, I appreciate you pointing out that the moment you talk about gun control it goes from "remembrance" (or whatever soft term the liberals want to call it so it doesn't appear to be a political rally) to political rally. I often wonder if the fight ever shifted to restricting the 1st because a group or select individuals misuse it -like publishing information that could cause harm to someone- oh, wait, that's been done with papers publishing gun owners' addresses. But I wonder if people would see that issue and sympathize with the pro-2A side of things... Naahh. [Mad]

I try to generally not be quite as abrasive as sand in a crotch. But even so, that guy I responded to wrote me this:
Well, not to me and maybe not to you. But it matters a lot to Joy Hoffman (Arapahoe County Republican Party Chair). She is not happy about it and has some people tracing IP addresses and attorneys looking for who dun it. I figure that if it is you, you might want to save her some expense and maybe just have a chat before an attorney finds them. Just my two cents.
Because he thought I might be the ArapaGOP guy who posted above. I did actually get more abrasive after that e-mail through FB.
