I know I am not the only one who has purchased a new firearm in a new caliber after the ammo panic. Can we get a list together of prepanic prices per round (brass only?)? It would be nice to know when a deal comes along that is worth it. And by prepanic I mean this time last year, we all know that ammo was cheaper in 2002.
I think I got all the popular Calibers. Add whatever you think is necessary.
*Assume we are not looking for match/sd ammo.
Not too sure why I dont see the grid I added.

Anything under $ 0.30- 0.70 per rd is a deal. starting on the 9mm / pistol side them going up to 5.56/223 - .308/7.62 x 51.
Hard to put a set price on a good deal. Especially when you see people paying $400+ per 1K of 5.56 for wolf then passing up pmc bronze @ $0.55 per rd / $550 per 1K. I see people paying top dollar here for reloading components (EX: 2x the retail price for powder) without blinking.

Recent purchases per round, all new factory loads, all pre-tax, all of which I think I did pretty damn well finding:
Federal .223 Bulk - $0.35
9mm FMJ white box - $0.27
22LR Bulk Remington - $0.05
JM Ver. 2.0

I blinked..... I blinked a lot.....
Sent from my teepee using smoke signals.
Ammo, firearms and components are worth exactly what people are willing to pay for them. Pre-panic prices as a benchmark might be fun, but will only make you frustrated. To get accurate data you'll need to know year, brand and exact product line. You'll also need to know if it was priced per box or in case. Some people here may get dealer or bulk pricing on top of that, so that may skew your data.
Your best bet in order to judge a "deal" is to use gunbot or any of the other ammo websites that have a default delineation between low prices and high prices. As the market cools off you should see those defaults coming down.

If is the term. When demand outstrips supply anything is possible.
. When the Buyer Intel section here and other boards list a product reloading or ammo related, the shit is OOS within minutes of posting. How many people purchased vs, qty in stock, especially when most vendors are limiting amount per person.
Shit is insane. I'm at the point i don't want to reload the qty's i use to, who knows when i can restock.
for what it's worth the wholesale cost of ammo has skyrocketed for dealers. There are some dealers able to get some ammo at reasonable prices. every once-in-a-while I get a good deal on ammo but I call my past customers that have purchased a firearm from me to give them first crack at the deal. I received a huge number of 223 and 5.56 and leftovers I have posted in the IP deals section. Though some think it is no deal at all, it is a product of my spreadsheet. FWIW
