I received the following in an update from Jared Polis, Colorado's second district congressman and avid gun banner:

Finally, I want to remind you of our photo contest to show how beautiful and unique Colorado's 2nd District is! Please send in your favorite photos (one entry per person) of our district to ShowUsYourColorado@gmail.com with your name and the location where the photo was taken. We will post entries to Facebook and the photo with the most “likes” between now and July 22nd will be the new cover page on my official Facebook page and will be printed out and displayed in my Washington, D.C., office. I encourage you to “like” my Congressional Facebook page and share your photos with friends. I'm looking forward to seeing our district through your eyes and cannot wait to see the submissions.

I think we should have a quick 2 day photo contest here on the board to pick one and only one photo of a forum member who lives in the 2nd district... clearly toting a firearm with some nice scenery from the 2nd district in the background. Be sure that it's all 2nd D. so they don't have an excuse to disqualify it. The one we vote for here will be submitted by the applicable forum member to Polis' Facebook page with a comment about the "joys of hunting deer in the 2nd District" or "How much fun it is to share the shooting sports with a young woman/young child/wife/whatever in the 2nd District", etc. Let's be careful that the gun haters can't construe the picture as threatening in any way - don't want to get anyone in trouble here. This is showing gun sports in the 2nd District in a positive light after all. This means if you have a picture to submit, you or a family member need to submit it to Polis on his email above.

He says he will post all entries, let's see if he is lying. If he keeps his word, then we will ALL vote for the pic on Facebook. Our families will all vote for the pic. Our friends, neighbors and their families will all vote for the pic. We'll get a link off of Drudge if we can. We should be able to swamp the "Likes" of other pics. After 22-July, if he keeps his word, the pic with the most likes will go up as his new FB cover page and will get displayed in his congressional office in D.C..

What a way for the good guys to make a statement about responsible gun use! If he breaks his word, then he gets a story linked off of Drudge for that too.

Lets really make their head explode. Submit a picture of a child shooting a AR with a 30 round magazine.

I know many here do not like that other AR site but if you put it there it will get a lot of "Likes."

Let's just post them here if it's OK with the admin. I can add a poll to the thread once we get a few. We only have a day or so to get this submitted so we can get the word out.

One of the things I have learned as of late is that every congressman, senator on the state and Federal level is doing some sort internet monitoring. In addition areas of the government, corporation s etc are doing the same thing. Basically they hire out a service that monitors the Internet 24/7/365 for comments related to them in some way. Basically when we say we are going to do something they know our plans long before we do them. What I am saying is not tin foil just.keep it in mind.

Polis isn't actually for more gun control. He favors more focus on mental health issues and other economic and cultural measures that lead a person down a path to violence.
