My Ass Rode In Navy Equipment ( ;) ) on the USS Tortuga (LSD-46) in 02-03 with BLT 2/2 on the 24th MEU(SOC). Got my Shellback going down to the Seychelles for a libo port. Fun side note; they let me (I had a secondary MOS as a MCWIS) and the Ships SAR swimmers swim accross the equator on the way back north. I don't think there's any special certificate for that but it was a good time.

I hung out with some Seabees in Afghanistan, and some Navy EOD- good dudes. I have no problem with the Navy, hell, I respect anyone who puts on a uniform, even if it isn't green... [Coffee]

You do still have "U.S. NAVY" on your uniforms, right? And you still are subject to Department of the Navy leadership and rules, right? You're Navy all the way! Just like the US Army Corps of Engineers are still, technically, Army... [Flower]

I spent a week on the Kitty for an exchange program; humbling experience. Had I not joined the Air Force, I was going Navy. Seems like the Navy fellas always have good assignments and see lots of interesting places.

Not Navy, but a civvie. Designed a bunch of gear for Hughes Aircraft in UYA-4 and UYQ-21 systems (NTDS) and integrated/tested on many of the DD-963s, FFG-7s, CG-47s, LHAs, and the Nimitzes. Miss those days...
