I used to live in that neck of the woods. Never had any run ins with police. As far as food goes, nothing really special over there. Your standard corporate establishments. Hooters used to have free bingo on Thursdays and you could win money, rockies tickets, etc. Haven't hit that up in a while though. I'm off 120th and Colorado now. A couple guys from the forum live over here by me. Should join us shooting sometime.

Good busy area, you are just a throwing distance from a hooters, starbucks, and a Qdoba. [Beer]
Although just north is the middle school and high school and during the school year hordes of yewts all over the place at lunch.
My office is just down the street from you on 124th.

I live in westminster too, but off 92nd & sheridan. Love it here. 120th offers quite a bit of food/grocery/entertainment. Police are present and are great, never had a problem with crime either, not that it's 100% absent, but I think it's a great city.

I have lived in the area(albeit east of you-120th and York) for 23 years. Aside from it being a part of what used to be a great state before the Dems fouled it up, no complaints. I will agree with what the others have said, generally pretty good part of metro to reside in.
Rumor has it that you have a decent gunsmith just a bit east from you......
Wasteminster native here. Growing up there made me realize how much I don't like people, too many entitled libs.

Just moved to Broomfield (120th & 287) and one thing I've noticed is an overabundance of police and since it's a lower crime area they don't have anything to do. So I've been told (haven't seen it myself, yet) that they can get pretty aggressive about speeding and other light traffic infractions. Broomfield is only about 2-3 miles west of you, so if you start getting towards that Wal-Mart on 120th and Sheridan, just watch your speed.
But there is a Five Guys Burger shop in that Wal-Mart center. So that's a definite bonus.

I would say get out of the metro area into a normal part of kolorado, but I see your from boulder so just stay right there!
Jk
I just moved to 136th and Huron a couple months ago. Seems like it is nice quiet suburbian hell. Families with screaming little kids everywhere. I am pretty sure nobody in the area knows how to cook either because any time you go to a restaurant it is packed. I love it. The wife and I have a newborn so this is what we were looking for. C.B. Potts at 120th and Huron is pretty good. I heard Three Chicks is supposed to be good for breakfast but the wife and I were not impressed.

Broomfield while being a lower crime rate, Lots of police I have got to say that in almost 9 years of living in the same neighborhood I have never been given any tickets. I have been pulled over for a crack in my windshield, but just a reminder. Wife and I have been Foster parents for that amount of time and have had to work with the police in dealing with out of control kids and they are all great!
This whole area off of 120th east to west is great.
That crazy gunsmith just down the street doesnt get into too much trouble I hear.................................

Have you no shame? [LOL]Nice plug.
I used to live a bit west from there- in Arvada, but not too terribly far, and have a couple friends that live in the Jackson Lake area SW of you... every time I go visit it's not bad, despite the fact that I have to take Federal to get there.
I'm your neighbor too. Just a tad north west over the Broomfield line, but no more than a couple miles. It's a good place to live for now. Lots of expansion in the area and to the north, so property values continue to rise which is good.
In case you didn't know, you'll be a hop, skip, and a jump from the Cabela's when they open in a couple weeks.

I traverse on 120th just about everyday, I live off 120th and Holly and the gf off 120th and Sheridan so I'm always back and forth on 120th. Cops are always around especially in your area. I haven't been pulled over in a long time, but I see it happen often though. There's a outdoor mall just north of you, Orchard Town Center, I think. Other typical stores are also in that area, Wal-mart, King Soopers, etc.
Head east on the other side of I25 for Santiago's Mexican food with drive-thru. It's not the best, but fairly cheap. Otherwise you're in a pretty good area along 120th for all the standard chain restaurants and shops, except for a Target I guess.
Definitely watch out for speed traps on 120th as you head west and get close to 287.
You're also close enough to my favorite pho place, Pho Duy, on 120th in Broomfield. It's also toward the 287 end.

Myself we usually do a neighborhood check Prior to relocating. ESPECIALLY if there are gunsmiths and other sordid business in the area.

That Santiago's is the only place I have ever left a $.02 tip. I would say hit the chubbys off Washington.

Funny as I think the Santiago's at that location is better than the one on 104th (I think that's the other one) yet not as good as the one in Boulder. I've had much better for sure but it's ok now and then.

The one in Brighton (the original) has always been better than all the rest. And I've eaten at maybe 7 or 8 of their locations. Don't know why, but they just are.
I'm just down the road near 120th and Main. This end is going to be hell for the next year or two as the construction progresses. But if you use the I25 corridor you were already screwed. Lots of overlap between Broomfield and Westy but here are some ideas:
Corona's for mexican 136th and Zuni
Santiagos on 104th
Pi for pizza 120th and Nickel
Phomai of Pho79 for ???? 120th and Main
Ooka or Blue Moon for sushi (google)
Little Lu's for seafood 120th and Federal
New Star for gyros and breakfast 120th and Sheridan
FFL 112th and Federal (PM if you want info)
And apparently there is a crazy gunsmith on the other side of 25 that will drug you with cat paraphernalia.... what he does afterwards is anybody's guess??

Wow there are a whole slew of us right down the street from one another. 120th and Colorado here. I'm quite certain I've tried just about every Mexican restaurant in a ten mile radius, corona's as suggested is quite tasty. The Hooter's has gone way down hill over the years, both the women and the food, but IMO the 120th location is the best in the metro area.
Being relatively new to the area myself, moving here from Parker about a year ago, I was never a fan before, but since my girlfriend (now wife) lived up here, and I was living with a roommate, it only made sense. I now couldn't be happier, and am looking to buy a house up here in the next year or so.

Completely agree since I missed the first one.
The Glenn is likely my favorite spot (actually having withdrawals, haven't been since the baby was born), great burgers, great atmosphere, and cold PBR.

Luceros on ether 52 and pecos or 104th and federal now that good green chili, of course the breakfast burritos especially at the pecos location is though to beat. Trust me, I'm a fatboy remember ;)

Lol, I'm a lover of pretty much all beers, especially excessively cloudy wheat beers, however while at the Glenn I'm usually there for awhile, and this low level government employee can't afford the "good stuff" in volume lol.
Ahhh good ol Key light, if you take all the beer I've drank from about 22 to present (29), I'm willing to bet the number is smaller than the quantity of key light I drank in college. Needless to say, I can't do key light anymore lol.

Lol. When I first hooked up with my wife her dad use to drink in the garage all day. He wouldn't even put a cooler out there. Trying to suck up a bit to the man that could kill me with his thumb, I use to have a few stones whenever I would go over there. The worse part was not only where they not cold but he had the 12 pack sitting next to a space heater. Yea that was tasty.

128th and Sheridan here. Yes, lots of cops in Broomfield. As long as you don't speed in residential areas you should be ok.

Check out Zo (just west of 120th and Sheridan) for sushi and Japanese food. Tasty. Taru Sushi is also good on the southeast corner of Sheridan and 120th. Hana Matsuri at 120th and federal, northeast corner is good. Dang, I haven't had sushi since my wife has been pregnant and I'm Jones-ing real bad over here!

east moon off church ranch has a decent happy hour too. dollar beer and sake.
I like the area as well. Before I moved out East on my property I lived close to 122nd and Huron, lived off of 120th and Grant, etc.
I work at 122nd and Huron as well.
Never had any trouble in this area. Cops seem fine to me if you are not being completely insane.
I also like Teds Montana Grill (Bison Steak, Burgers, etc.) which is West on 120th on Bradburn (South side of 120th). I agree with a lot of the other places folks have mentioned.
I found a decent gyros place. Afghan kabobs...it's west of pecos on 120th....pretty much across from the entrance to the Ranch country club. Decent bufet too.

Kabob Station
The wife and I go there from time to time for lunch. I haven't been to Enzo's in a while but it was passable Italian the last time I went and it is in the same strip mall as Kabob. The Deli next to Kabob is pretty decent as well.
