PCSD
Tucson Police Officer Kyle James McCartin
When a drunk man stumbled into a Tucson gas station and started pointing a gun at the clerk, there already was a cop inside.
Unfortunately, the Pima County Sheriff's Department says the cop was the drunk guy pointing a gun around.
It happened shortly after 3 a.m. Tuesday, as two guys came into the store together, shirtless but wearing ballistic vests.
As you can see from the surveillance footage, one of the guys points a gun right at the clerk.
WTH!?!?
Keep it clean

Hey Ronin,
If you still want to get into Law Enforcement, I bet I know of an agency that's going to have an opening soon.

Unfortunately Police work attracts some freaking weird assholes.
Aside from the whole being a cop and violating several serious laws.... who the hell dons a vest without an undershirt? Really? REAALLLY? Unless it's 2am and you wake up to something going "bump" in the night, why the hell do you have just a vest on? Seriously folks, if you ever find yourself basking in the delight your own sweat from the tightly wrapped vest around your bare chest, and the gentle breeze tickling your exposed arms, you might want to think about staying inside and playing with grandmas handheld video poker game. Either that or climb on your neighbors bull for eight seconds of entertainment for your girlfriend who probably doesn't pass the Missouri approved tooth to tattoo ratio keeper test (if your girlfriend has more teeth than tattoos, she's a a keeper).
Holy hell how can enough be said about these asshats?
"Hey brah, grease my arms up with some Vaseline so I look dope as hell when we go to the loaf n' jug with our cool as vests on"
Can't...comprehend.... must resist...... can't..... maintain...... *smashes face into keyboard*

True, although age is not a factor......

Well, living in Tucson... I've been to Tucson many times and I can understand... kind of, I mean snapping and going off the deep end. It happens.
Prayers sent for a full recovery and a new life.
I wonder what would have happened if the clerk had been armed and killed the guy pointing the gun at him. Would he be reported as someone defending himself or a cop killer? How would local PD treat him? [Pop]

Very good question! Displayed badge or not, this asshole had no legal reason to point a gun at the clerk and the clerk would be in fear for his life I would think. Classic case of self defense.

How would the news spin, it is really the question? I think he would have been legal to defend himself since said person was not in uniform, no on duty, not on a call, and menacing. I am sure once the video came out and investigation was concluded he wouldn't have been charged. I am sure that every officer on this board and every officer that saw this case is pissed off at this individuals actions and depending on the department the fellow officers would have helped him realize how stupid he is with other means in addition to administrative or criminal actions.

I don't think that would be the case in this circumstance, and I agree 100% with Kev.

I'm just glad it came out now instead of later with somebody hurt. I think it was just the drinking that caused it, and also the lack of training! If anything make the video a training aid for new recruits...comes under the heading "SHIT NOT TO DO".
FFS!
Even at the young age of 23, ANY shmo (and a probationary status cop at that) knows not to pull this shit. This guy should be put on the short list of forced Darwinism; one more major fuck up before 25, or 2 more before 30 and he is done.
People need to Quit making excuses for stupid.

Done, as in done being the police, or done, as in done breathing?
My vote is for one f***-up at this level means he needs a new career and a swift kick in the testiculars. And I'm generally pretty pro-police and pro-"cut the cop some slack" for this place.

Hey, lets let the jury decide! And there could be exigent circumstances, some asshole at the party could have put a hallucinogen in his drink. Did you know LSD is measured in micrograms? A guy with a cropduster flying over Denver...Hell why play games with LSD, get some military grade hallucinogen like BZ! I heard BZ is a 1000 times more powerful and used to be produced in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Hell why play with a cropduster...just get a fire suppression C-130 and spray the whole state! Sometimes I think this has already happened...lol http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3-Quinuclidinyl_benzilate
