View Full Version : 9mm in stock (UMC Mega packs 250rnds)
Just got a case (1000rds for 211.75 after tax) from wally world the one near Hampden & I-25. They had 4 cases left. Just wanted to let you know.
P.S. They don't sell ammo after 10 PM.
UPDATE
Just got home from the same walmart. Talk to the guy who sels ammo he said they're gonna recieve ammo tonight and there gonna be 50 boxes (50 000 rds) of 9mm (winchester 100rds value packs for $19.something - almost $20). He says he's sure all the ammo will be gone by noon...
Just wanted to share the info.
P.S. I LOVE FRIDAYS!!!!! [Beer]
I tried to buy some ammo after 10pm once and they told me they don't sell because of a state law. I told them there is no state law that says anything like that. Then it was a store policy. So I didn't get my ammo.

I looked around for ammo down here in Colo Spr area yesterday. The Waly World in Falcon was slim pickings - still got a 550 box of Federal .22LR & a 100 rnd box of Federal 12ga, but they were sooo thin on anything else it was sickening. (NOTE: The woman working Sporting Goods had a phone call while I was ther ethat caused her to look through the ammo cabinet - she turned to me and asked "Do you know what 45ACP is, and do we have any?" I told her 45ACP is the same as 45 Auto and, (after double-checking through their ammo cabinet) no, they were out of it. Gotta love the expertise they have.)
I also went to Sportsman Warehouse. I have never seen it so cleaned out of ammo and reloading compoents. It's getting rough out there folks. The funny thing is that while I was in the store they had a "Basic/Beginning Reloading Class". I watched for about 15 minutes thinking I might pick up something useful. Nope. I guess there is a reason they call it a Beginning level class. The sad thing is that the folks sitting through the class probably expected to be able to go and buy what they needed to reload after the class. I'm sure they were surprised when they tried to find even the basic tools and found NOTHING.
You all strap yourselves in, we're in for a bumpy ride.
Last week I checked abt 5-6 Walmarts and I coudn't find any 22lr, 9mm, 380ACP, and 45 ACP... There were some 223s and 7.62s but not much. Last evening I went to my local walmart and picked up 2 100 packs of .380Auto that's all they had left.
I checked the other store and found the 9mm. I'm sure it is sold by now....
Begining of the end???

Did you ask them why?
I think they were just being lazy. They said I just couldn't buy "weapons" after a certain time. [Mad]

I spoke with a guy @ work today whose brother lives in N. Carolina. He said that back in June/July when the gas hit $4/gallon there wasn't a drop to be found anywhere in his area as well as parts of Eastern Tennessee. Now, it's the exact same story out there in regards to ammunition. Apparently, you can find some 12ga shells here and there and a random 50rnd box of .22LR - but nothing else.
Beginning of the end? I don'r know about that, but I do know that finding ammo is a high priority for me right now.
Its slim pickings for sure at all the WalMarts here in CoSpr, I've just been trying to stock up on 9mm with no luck.
Sportsmans is bear huh......at least they have places to sit now! I'm really considering placing an order for 9mm and 12ga....
Hey Ginsue.....are those Fed 12ga buckshot by chance?

Naw, all they have is 7 1/2 and 8 shot. I buy the 7 1/2 which they like to call a "multi-purpose load". In a hunting application it may only be good for rabbits and quail, but it'll also take care of a home intruder.

My order was on back order from Cabela's. The .223 only took 2 weeks, but the 7.62 took 6 weeks.
I'm considering ordering right after I get my back orders, and then reordering again. And keep doing it for awhile. Gives me time between orders to make some extra spending money to pay for it.
Yeah, I'm thinking I should start ordering as well............
Ginsue-Wish my M1S90 would run that stuff without a hitch, I'd be all over it.
To bad we couldn't set up some sort of group buy on some ammo, I'd like to get my hands on some 9mm and some 12ga buckshot.

There should be quite a bit of in coming ammo soon. I personally talked to PMC and a US distributor and they both said there is a lot of ammo coming.
The reason Sportsmans Warehouse is empty is because they are changing owners and the old owner does not want to spend the money to reorder and the new owner isn't going to spend the money to reorder until the deal is done.
Wally world is well Wally world.
The gun shops in the smaller towns have just about every thing you need except Varget, Unique and maybe primers depending on which one's you need.
With the smaller shops the problem is they may be able to only stock one or two cases of each type of ammo so if someone comes and takes it all the shop will be out for a week while they reorder. The ammo is out there I see in the little shops every time I go in to one.
Talk to your smaller shops. They can special order almost every thing you want. Like I said before some of the powder is tough to get and some of the primers but most everything else is out there or a least available after a short backorder.
Support the little shop and he will be able support you!

BTW the shop in Salida is out of .45ACP because someone took it all but more is coming and last time I was in there he had a couple of cases of 9mm. I was in the Springs yesterday and seen PMC 9mm for $14.99 a box. Salida has it for $11 or $12. Plus the taxes are cheaper.
Damn I should join the Salida Chamber of Commerce. :)

You see, that's the thing - I don't have any problem with finding ammo BUT I do have a problem with how they pricing it...

I hear you. I went to scrap some metal and the prices are down so much. I had a truck load and go $25 for all of it when this summer I would get close to $100. and yet ammo is going up up up
It didn't take them that long to double the prices on ammo and gas after Katrina. I think we should boycott their asses until prices return to normal.

That's what I was thinking, but I don't think lots of people are actually gonna do this...

I'm not boycotting. But I am not buying any ammo because its to expensive and I can't afford it.

Mine runs it (Federal 7/12 from WalMart) just fine. Been shooting trap - I do get some looks with the Benelli, but that's not my problem.

Yeah, my buddies runs that stuff all day long....don't know if mine just needs to get broken in or what. Put about 400-500 rounds down the tube so far.

You kids and your fancy guns. Okay, I'm jealous of the Benelli's. There, I said it!
As far as ammo, I'd really like to get several hundred rounds of 9mm for myself and to share with my daughter (getting her an XD-9 next month - if I can find one). I'm getting all 4 of us in the family into a CCW qualifying class soon and we'll need some ammo to put on target for the range portion of the class., plus some to have on hand. Sadly, like the rest of you, I'm probably not getting any soon because 1) I can't afford it, and 2) because I'm just plain cheap!

Are you running 3" shells through it?
Are you running 3" shells through it?
I've ran about 50 rounds of 3" thru it along with slugs and buckshot......just ran a little finicky on the 2 3/4" 7 1/2 stuff I got from walmart.
I've been calling walmarts before making a wasted trip and all I get is "Our warehouse is out so we haven't gotten any".....
I did find some at the Platte/Chelton store but I can't run UMC out of my RRA so I've been holding out.

there also gonna be some 38 spl. don't know the price..
