Seems our Trading Post forum has dwindled down to damn near nothing, mostly due to the new laws thought up by your legislators. Used to check the entire TP numerous times throughout the day but now seems it's barely worth checking. Also note very few posts in the Gun Show forum. I'd still like to find out what the BGC and transfers will cost when we use the Gun Show provided service. Anyone know or even care?[Mad]

I blame Obama. I could have blamed the people that voted for him...but that would be insulting stupid Americans! I'm surprised Congress hasn't impeached him, but they are too stupid too!

Ain't no arguing that.... AND getting the right people into our state government is really important.

I am starting to feel as if my name might be added to the list of those considering moving out of this FORMER great State. Damn sad to think that the FORMER gun friendly atmosphere was one of the main reasons for retiring here from Illinois. I could live with the Illinois FOID card easier than this new crap forced upon us.[Mad]

Hated that damn thing, granted I never "registered" anything either, they can take their recommendation of a list of serial numbers and pound sand

Agreed not much to see there anymore, I even changed my bookmark to the site from there to the General discussion. Id say unless you are offering an extreme price advantage (which is far from the case in TP right now) there is no reason for me to buy your used gun vs going and getting a new one.
Yeah, but I feel so much safer now.
I think things will come back in time. Just figuring out the laws still and how deep the rabbit hole goes. plus a lot of people are cash poor after buying tons of stuff and if they bought during the peak their stuff isn't worth that price any more and they Dont want to take a loss

The really sad part is it seems only the Metro Denver area has become anti gun. Here in the western slope you'd be lucky to find an Obama supporter! Too bad it seems like the western half of the state is kinda forgotten.

One of the issues I see that drives me nuts is a large number of the people that have guns for sale that are at least 50 years old keep putting in there add that they need a BGC at an FFL. Why do this when the only sanity we have left is the C&R clause to continue to trade and sell without going through a BGC? We need to quit letting the gun grabbers have more power than they have or deserve under the new BGC law.

C&R's are exempt? Why hell, I prefer those anyway.

I see ads down near me for PMags at $45 and higher. That's for Gen2 MOE mags, not the new Gen3's or PMag 40s (like either of those are worth that price anyways). Even my local gun shop has them for $28 now. I went into my LGS thinking that if they had them for $15-16, I might just support them some, then I saw the price. Went home and ordered 4 on Midway for $12 each.
I just wish powder and reloading components would make a faster come back. I really need some more powder and my LGS doesn't have it.

I guess we gotta see if this new BGC is enforced. If this is like the old "adultery laws" of the past? Probably won't be enforced unless a "gun" crime is committed!

Yeah...an "oh, ...btw" type enforcement.

Yep. I would have been a buyer of the SPAS 12 folder that came up,(to match the strait stock gun I have), but did'nt want to deal with the FFL transfer BS.
Well between the new bs laws and the seasonal members leaving its nice and quiet but I have a feeling it will start picking up again it just going to take a bit of time.

I have found myself in a depressed mood when visiting the Trading Post.
Someone told me the other day that after the fall (?) election, there is a chance to over turn the ruling if one of the voters of the bill is fired... ?

Not at all. Stop listening to "someone"[facepalm] Once Obama is out of office the healthcare law is still in effect. If someone was telling you the truth once, Johnson left office Welfare would have ended.
There are 2 ways to remove these gun laws
1) have it ruled invalid by the courts
2) General election with it on the ballot.

I'm sure it will come back some, but never to the levels before the new laws (unless they get overturned somewhere along the way). After $10 for a BGC and then the fees of the FFL, a used firearm will need to be a very good deal or a lot of people will just purchase new.

Maybe so, but I know I don't want to be the one to find out if they will be enforced or not. What will happen when someone legally uses a firearm in self-defense and it's found out that the firearm was originally purchased after the new laws went into effect by someone else and the person using it never had it "legally" transferred. Sounds like a wet dream for the anti-gun crowd.

Let's see ... it's time for summer vacations, people are burned out from buying and selling prior to the July 1 rules changes .. yeah, I'm so surprised that people are taking a bit of a break from the Trading Post. [facepalm]
People will buy used firearms next month/year for the same reason they bought them last month/year -- I don't see $20-40 in additional fees changing that much except possibly forcing sellers to drop their prices a tad to accommodate the new charges. Don't get me wrong, I still think the new laws/fees are BS but it's usually 5-10% of the transaction.
I need to find time to shoot the stuff I just bought the past few months, I'll worry about ads on the TP later. [mop]

I check out the TP every visit here. It will get going again as we figure out how to work the new system. Issue for me is that I live in NorCO and used to be able to meet 1/2 way south in Loveland or Longmont to trade/buy/sell and now I can't. Slows me down somewhat so for now I will just enjoy what I have and let everything sort itself out.

It's okay, they don't even know they're being insulted.
