Right on, man. Hope you and the family have a memorable time together.
Just the truck or the pop up to?

The truck, camper or both?
Thought about renting a pop up one of these weekends.

Truck only, had the camper already. My 28 year old GMC doesn't like heat or pulling long steep hills. (vapor lock) No radio, no AC, no comfy seats.
Been there, was a successful weekend. Only one bad thing, I have to return the truck in the morning.
Enterprise Rental, GMC, Dodge, Ford, Crew Cabs, long or shotbox, Gas or Diesel. I'm glad they started doing this. Way worth the $350 or so, I will have total costs in the morning.
I can rent the truck several times a year and the cost will probably only be equal to a couple payments on one new one. Win Win.
No Dual Band in there either :-(

If your going to do it that way you need a bigger trailer. [Flower] I went from my Dakota to the 98 ram diesel when I knew I was going to go over 20'. My 24' is 6500 and my old truck pulls it just fine.
Just a thought. [pick-me]

Yeah, several issues when renting, I don't have all my goodies with me. I didn't have the time over the weekend to play radio anyway. Too busy screwing with the "Rental". Drive it like you stole it.

Well, I can't afford a new truck, just paid off the camper, so this is my option at the moment. I can do a diesel conversion on my GMC, but then I'm still stuck with a 28 year old interior, no radio or ac, which can be fixed. But still a 28 year old truck. Used diesels are available, and might be the option, some day. My father has a 2002 cummins, decent machine.

Totally agree with ya there!

Mine came to $388.52 + $100 in fuel, $100 in sporting even fees for family. Not including food.
I see myself going completely backwards in life. Can't afford any of the things I once thought. Two decent salaries, hard working. Guess that is where I've gone wrong.

I may do something like this later this year. I don't have a camper trailer, but you can rent them on Buckley. Get that and a decent truck to pull it with and see how it goes.
