After getting a few quotes I decided it wasn't worth it to pay someone to poke holes in my glock. So I decided to try it myself. I practiced on one square on a PMAG and then went to town. I think it turned out really good for my first time. I even got the wife to try it out on the PMAG. She did great.

One of the easiest and fun mods to do to modern polymer pistols. It amuses me that people pay alot of money for others to do this service when a 5 dollar iron and a little practice will get you the same results. I also get a kick out of the folks that lose their minds over how "YOU RUINED YOUR RESALE VALUE" Yeah, its a 500 dollar glock, its not like I took the iron to a 1st gen Colt SAA.

Anyway, great job. Looks good and keep up the fun.

Still debating stippling. I'm okay with the look but unsure why I would really need to do this to my pistol. Suggestions?

I do understand why some people file down the finger grooves though.

I shot my gen3 in the rain and it was almost impossible to control it. After stippling it would take king kong to make it move in my hand. Same issue with the g26, It was a gen4 but my hands are way to big for it so the stippling allows me to hang on to it a little better. Way better than the gen4 texture it came with. It feels great, I was really scared and was going to send it to Salient Arms to do it, but they quoted me $400. Best thing ive done yet. If you head up to the shoot at Harris Park in September, you are more than welcome to take it for a test drive.

Thanks for the reply. How does this compare to something like Talon Grips?

Its basically the same thing, just more permanent.

And here I was, thinking Glocks could not be more ugly.

I have my pretty guns, sigs and hk's. The Glocks are what i consider my "tools". Tools dont need to be pretty, they just need to work.

Edit: I didnt not take offense to you calling my babies ugly. [Beer]

Why retain the patent stamp instead of giving it a cleaner look by stippling right over it?

Didnt know whether or not I should do that. What does everyone else think?

I think function, over form, is beauty in engineering...

But yes stipple over the patent note.

Stipple over it.

I haven't stippled my Glocks, but I have sanded off the hook on the trigger guard, and also smoothed out the corners under the rear of the guard on my G36 to eliminate"Glock knuckle."
I consider my Glocks to be red-headed step children - doesn't bother me to beat them.

I may give it a go with my G19. Doesn't seem too difficult. Any advice?

The pistols look like they came out pretty good. I took an iron to my G19 at Bill Rogers suggestion when I was at his school down in GA in 2008 or so. It was hot and I was sweaty as hell. Trying to hold on to my pistol was causing me issues. It makes a world of difference when your hands are wet. Any more I'd knock the finger groves off before stippling anything though.

Does knocking off the finger grooves make that much of a difference? Time to make some mods to the G19.

I prefer it. You can shoot one of mine when I get back.

I might have mine done by then! However; I will be ready to hit the range with ya regardless. SF
