House repubs and Obama vote your 4th amendment away

The Amash amendment would have stopped the NSA's warrantless data collection on Americans. It was voted down by a majority of Republicans and some heavy duty lobbying by OBAMA





"We're here today for a very simple reason: to defend the Fourth Amendment, to defend the privacy of each and every American," Amash said as he introduced his measure. Lawmakers' votes, he said, would answer one simple question, "Do we oppose the suspicionless collection of every American's phone records?"
On Wednesday, at least, the answer was no. The House voted 217-205 to defeat the amendment after intense last-minute lobbying (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/07/23/justin-amash-nsa-amendment_n_3642228.html) from the White House and the NSA.
Democrats voted for the amendment by a 111-to-83 margin. Republicans, meanwhile, split 134 to 93 (http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2013/roll412.xml) against it."

It just blows my mind. This is an easy 422-0 vote for anyone who gives a crap about constitutional rights. Neither party really cares. They just have ones they support and ones they want to be gone.

There should be no vote on this at all as it should have never been allowed to get to this point in the first place.
