I'm about to send out a Noveske Stainless barrel to be dimpled and wanted to know if having it parkerized as well will turn it black. I am not a fan of the look of stainless and I want to protect it from corrosion as much as possible. Is anyone familiar with this process?
Try Cerakote. I've never had a corrosion problem with my stainless barrels. Are you sure yours is stainless?
I'm fairly certain you can't parkerize stainless.

This would be a correct statement. There are oxide coatings for ss but not sure who around here could or cost.
FWIW I will be shooting some flat black MolyResin this week. I might be able to squeeze in a barrel at the same time.

Thanks Bert but it's being sent to Marvin Pitts to be dimpled so I'm just going to have him cerakote it Armor Black. However, when it gets back I have a really top shelf AR for you to put together. I will be in touch in about 3 weeks.
