Thinking about going to a few next month, anyone else go to any of them?
I'm a technically untechnical techy but haven't, technically, been to any meet-ups.

What's a "meetup"?

Basically a group of people that get together to learn something, workout .... basically if you have an extra $10 a month you want to spend you can create a meetup.

Too much Viagra?

I joined a couple of the offroading groups but haven't gone because I don't feel like going with 30 other rigs.
I'm on the Denver Urban Survival network... pretty much because the meetups re at Stranahan's but I haven't actually been able to go to one yet.

Oh, and have fun trying to find me on Facebook. When you find me we'll go out and 'do stuff'.

The hike I did this weekend I ran into a group who were part of a "Meetup" group. They get together and go hiking.
The did have an age limit, 40 years an older. Sadly, I am such a fat bastard I struggled to keep up while talking to people about their grandchildren...
What type of "tech" meet up are you thinking of putting together?

I'm not thinking of putting any together. I'm going to go to the Denver Hack Night on the 8th, and ive been meaning to go to the SQL Server meetup at microsoft. Didnt know if anyone else went to them.
Instead of making something new -- support the guys at Denhac - the Denver Hacker Space. Good folks - some of them a bit touched - but good folks none the less. They routinely do classes on all sorts of fun stuff. They have all sorts of goodies like lasers, 3d printers, a 5 ton glass cutting table, etc.

They are also fairly pro gun. Tell them asmo sent you.

Sounds like you met up with the Grey Wolves. Very active over 40 social group.

Guy i works with is close with the Den Hack folks as well as CLUE.
I get enough technology at work to worry about it too much outside of work.

I'm an anomaly- I'm a techie that lives Rural... besides, I'm a router geek, Only delve a little into systems.
would be cool to have a CCNP study group, but when I mention Cisco around here, people ask about Pancho...

There is deep cisco-fu on this site. You just have to look.
Boulder New Tech once in a blue moon. Interesting mix of developers, venture capitalists, and MBA types looking to score.

I've been to one or two of 'em. They usually have corporate sponsors, so the last I went to a local headhunter firm was there, spoke for 2 min, and brought everyone coffee and donuts.
Overall, I don't go to many, but they've been decent.

I'm a network guy too. CCNP group would definitely catch my interest. Though I mainly deal with Juniper and PaloAlto these days.
