So, the other day I was trying to resize some once used 30-06 brass. I filled my reloading tray and sprayed all four sides with Onepass and a little over the top to get some lube inside. I put about 10 cases through the die (they all felt a little stiff, but nothing crazy) before one got stuck fast and I ripped off the rim trying to pull it out. I was suprised that the Onepass failed so badly. Has anyone else experienced this?

One pass or one shot? One shot sucks monkey balls. The rcbs spray lube rocks.

One Shot is good for sticking cases. Imperial is the goto product for your task!!

I use One Shot. Works perfect for me. Spray it on lightly and let it dry. Then load. If you dont let it dry, you will stick cases.

Hoser, while I respect your right to your opinion, and your reloading prowess, one shot stinks worse than this.

After I spent 45 min pulling a .308 case out of the die once I will never use one shot again. I have meant to try the Imperial but have just used the RCBS for the last 10 years or so.

Tried rcbs, still have some, but like the dillon spray , getting ready to make my own.

I thought it might be my regular lube in the die reacting with the one shot, So I donated my one shot to a buddy who began reloading and had brand new dies. Two hours later I get a phone call from my friend asking me if he needs to buy new dies or if there is a way to get the case out of the die. One shot is just the way for Hardy to sell more dies.

On the upside, I learned to make my own case removal tool with a socket, bolts, nuts, and tap and die set.

I have only every tried dillon lube and it is amazingly effective.

The formula for making your own (OP, not you jim as you already seem to know) is roughly a 1:4 ratio of hydrous lanolin (liquid lanolin) and 90% isopropyl alcohol. You can get a 4oz bottle of lanolin for around $6 at most drug stores (I know amazon has it for $6.30) and a 16oz bottle of 90% isopropyl for around $2-2.50. That's 20oz of good quality lube that will definitely last a long time!

And the skin on your hands will be as soft and supple as a..., well you guys with kids will know what else lanolin is good for.

No, Hoser is right, if you use Hornady One Shot correctly, it works. But the problem is that its easy to forget to use it right and then you got a stuck case. And every time I've ever seen someone with a stuck case, they were using One Shot.

So Hoser is right AND One Shot sucks balls.

I like the RCBS spray lube. Never stuck a case with that.

Hint, doctors sometimes tell expectant mothers to put tea bags on these to toughen them up.

Sure you don't mean to flavor them? [LOL]

I haven't been loading long, but RCBS works a treat for me.

Much as it pains me to agree with the hosehound, I never had an issue with One Shot. It's so easy, I'm not sure how people manage to stick cases with it unless they're just being super stingy (i.e. making one pass) [facepalm]

I make my own. Cstone has a good recipe. Very cheap to make.

Imperial Wax. Obviously it takes longer to apply, but I've never stuck a case. The home brew spray sounds interesting though.

DocMedic was over at my house last weekend loading 223 ammo.

He loaded up 700-800 rounds using One Shot. Didnt stick a single case.

I know you guys are all lying about it working. One shot is a chemical Chinese finger trap.

Yep. It's a conspiracy to keep Hornady afloat until I can dump my shares.

I have had bad luck with OneShot and have since switched to RCBS, not a single stuck case after I switched. But, to be fair I did use one shot for a few years without a problem. I went through 2 cans of oneshot without a problem, when I bought my third can every 50-60 case I would get a stuck one. I called Dillon to ask if I had my die set up wrong on my 650 and the Dillon rep told me to use anything but oneshot. He said the batches of oneshot are very inconsistent and that it is a problem he hears about frequently.

I found the 1 Shot in manual spray bottle worked. The aerosol .... on the 3rd in a row stuck 223 case it hit me like that brief moment of clarity [facepalm]ONE SHOT!

I use one shot on straight cases. RCBS case lube otherwise

Sorry I missed this, yes you still have to let it dry for a couple of minutes otherwise you'll get dimples in the brass at the neck... ask me how I know [LOL]
