Looks pretty good.
The trailer for the movie looks pretty good, and I'd like to see it....BUT, I can't allow any of my hard earned money to go to Mark Walberg. He's rabidly antigun, but has no problem using one in everyone of his movies. Also a big time racist that did time for the hate crime of randomly beating asian kids

Just from the trailer it looks like they held pretty true to the book. I will be seeing it as well even if I have to wait till it is on dvd. I didn't know marky marky was commy lib but no real surprise.

yeah same here.... I like him... I make VERY few exceptions on that.. but look, at the end of the day, we are going to be left with basically Gary Sinise.... lol. you wanna see some cool action guys, its probably going to be the lesser of the evils you are watching..

I pictured it a lot different until I googled the mountain they were on. Looks like it was almost filmed in the same place. I can't wait. I dont care who the actors are, as long as they are able to portray the 4 guys well. I don't think anyone can deny that Marky Mark is a good actor. He may be a complete douche but it could have been worse.

Yeah, Bruce is too old, but Jim Caviezel would probably be good, or Dean Cain, although he's probably not "big name" enough to really sell the movie like Marky Mark. In his younger days, Tom Berenger would have been perfect (thinking before Sniper and Substitute era Berenger).

ALL politics aside, hopefully this will be a good movie.

I pictured that place A LOT different from Marcus' own description (I've seen him speak and tell the story in person, even shook his hand) and from the book.
That's an interesting picture. I now understand what Marcus meant by how it was "raining bullets" and they just kept falling down the side of the mountain to get cover. Mother of God that had to be one hell of an engagement. Pisses me off we couldn't get air support or a platoon of Marines in there to help them out. God bless them.

yeah I kind of agree.. it was a shame that it took so long, and then when it did happen we lost that bird..
I remember reading and just wishing they could put a couple A-10s in the air... probably would have been a lot quiter for when the helicopters wanted to go in. (then again, I dont know much about this stuff)

Don't give a rats ass about the actors. Their ideals will probably never align with mine.
Will wait for video release or cable. Don't like theaters anyway.

Good men died because of their own "I,m a bullet proof Navy Seal hooah" bullshit! Four guys are NOT direct action anything. You get comprimised, you extract. I am not a fan of Marcus or his book. If you want to read about real hero's, check out "Thirty Seconds over Tokyo". As the "Lone Survivor", Marcus should have been court martialed. Again, I stand by this post, so let's get it on.

It was. Regardless of how Ryan50BMG feels about Marcus & his book....many good men died that day. I, along with everyone else here, was not there. Therefore it is not appropriate for me to question the actions of those who were. They made a judgement call and shit fell apart. That being said, I would highly doubt the judgement call made that day on that mountain side had ANYTHING to do with the macho SEAL bravado. My .02

Every time I see a gun show up in a movie/TV Show they always make a slide/safety/metallic sound that just bugs the hell out of me. I mean, come on people. Guns don't just make sounds all by themselves. I hope this movie is different.

I did too, I havn't seen Mr. Luttrell speak, but I have read the book about 7 or 8 times and in my mind it wasn't at all like the picture.

The radio's didn't work and Lt. Murphy had a cell phone and he had to expose himself (Why he earned the MOH) to make the call to relay the coordinates to them. Turbine 33 with a 16 man SEAL QRF was taken out and lost the entire SEAL and Helicopter crew on the way in.

I read the book too and that's a load of hooey. They were attempting to extract. I can't even begin to guess what kind of medications you need to be on to say he should have been court-martialed -- on what charges? The fact he DIDN'T violate the Law of Armed Conflict? I haven't met a lot of SEALs but the ones I have never had the "bullet proof" attitude you're claiming. In fact, I remember one of them vetoing a proposed mission because it was too risky. Good men did indeed die that day but it wasn't any fault of Murph's team.

I'm all about a a spirited talk about "Lone Survivor", Marcus, his book, and any upcoming movie, but folks saw fit to launch personal attacks... [MOD EDIT] I admit "court martial" may have been over the top...but the ONLY reason Marcus is around to tell his story is because brave Afgan villagers refused to turn him over to the Talliban. If the the Talliban are willing to shoot a little girl on her way to school, I have no dought these simple folks payed a high price for their courage.
I never once "attacked you" Ryan but you want to blanket all of us with your name calling, belittling and last I checked, I never slept with my mother. Glad to see guys like you have a hold on your temper so well....and are armed.
