Sitting here at the DMV awaiting mandatory unauthorized rape.
Before I even get my total number I'm going to tell hickenlooper to go fuck himself because he is a worthless piece of shit who has violated my 2nd amendment rights, then instead of taxes voted on by the people, we have fees placed on our registration. A major slap in the face while driving down several of my local roads and watching how long construction takes...lots signed off by Ritter.
Next is a fuck you to Obama. You tell me to get a better emission vehicle, go green, save gas, save the planet...but now when it comes time I get bent over at the pump, at tax time etc.
Fuck all you democrats who are going after the working man to pay for your bullshit expenses, who fuck over the people who own land and were "green" before going green was the in thing and are making them pay more than their fair share.
I am sick to death of taxes, of being forced to help the "needy" when they are nothing close to the word. I am sick of the fees...like the E-470 fee I am about to pay when I Dont drive on that fucking toll road...its a fucking toll road. Why am I paying fees on a fucking toll road. Damn it that pisses me off.

I give that a solid, and well earned 9. I agree 100%. Oh and let's go for the gold on this while we're at it, Obamacare- fuck everyone who voted for it, we're gonna get it pretty hard and people like McCain and Ross Kaminski (of 630 KHOW), for saying that anyone who pushes to defund it will make the GOP look "insensitive." GFY.

Does anyone else remember when E-470 was being pitched they said it was only going to be a toll road until it was paid off. I am sure it is paid off by now so why the hell is it still a toll road? Also who decided back registration makes sense. If the vehicle or trailer were not registered it means it was not on the road so why charge back registration on it like it was?

Not to mention that the E470 tolls are ridiculously high. Best way to beat the traffic but goddam it's expensive.

Dave_L

Or pay fines for letting a stored vehicle lapse.

That is the most ridiculous nonsense ever. As soon as the tags expire, you legally aren't allowed to be on the road anyways. Thus, your paid benefits are expired and the car has used it's 12 months of registration. If they charge late fees, they need to stop writing expired tag tickets.

I feel for you. I registered my 1987 motorcycle a couple of weeks back...that I had had in storage for 6 years

3.00 Prior ownership tax
16.00 Road Fee
13.00 Bridge Fee
56.48 License fee
100.00 stupid fuckin' penalty for not paying to renew the registration on something that never moved outside of my shop for 6 years.

Fuck Ritter/Owens/Hickenlooper and their goddamn "fees". That same bike used to cost 17.30 a year to license, based on curb weight.

It could be worse. You could have had to not only pay the E470 fee but also paid the fees to use E470 on a regular basis.

We spend close to $300 a month on E470 between the wife and I.

Wyoming is better than Kansas- but yes, it's getting to the point where the Denver Dictatorship of Democrats (otherwise known as the DeeDeeDee! LOL) makes any departure from this state, no matter how short, a refreshing thing. Still, for the time being, better than NY or CA.

Wonderful rant. But wtf cost $800 to register??? 2013 Benz??
$760 IIRC, is what a buddy of mine paid to renew his registration on a 2011 Dodge 2500... I just remember he was venting about it back in May saying he has a truck, not a Lambo.

Dave
08-02-2013, 18:43
Did you make sure to tell them it's a recreational truck? When I still had my 1993 K3500 they said trucks were defaulted to work trucks which have a higher registration fee schedule and you have to tell them it's not used in a business. Last year my tags cost me 158, but would have been 260 if I didn't tell them it's recreational.

This is one of the biggest sore spots for me. It is utter bullshit that they can attach "fees" in lieu of going through the legal process of imposing taxes. It is absolutely unconstitutional and the back fees for previous years are absolute bullshit. I am going to go register a motorcycle that I bought literally a decade ago when I was on active duty stationed in Washington state (where I paid sales tax) and I am going to get charged sales tax on it here in the state of Colorado in peoples gay public of Boulderfornia per the date on the Washington title and the vehicles value. What a bunch of shit. Just yesterday my girlfriend payed over $1500 for registering a car that she bought for 16,000 used private sale. That is over 9% tax (including fees which are just illegal taxes). I have fucking had it with this state.

I didn't do this. Wasn't sure they did this any more. I remember my dads truck as a kid having plates that said REC on the side. I don't see those any more but doesn't mean there isn't that option, I'll look into it and see if I can get a refund or credit back.

Just looked and yep they have recreational truck. Allows it to be used singly or with a trailer. So this might be a good way to pull a camper and avoid paying the light truck fees and a trailer plate.

This does not work anymore. They will tax the vehicle based off of blue book value and dont give a shit what you paid for it. Even if you have a bill of sale, they charge tax on blue book or what you paid the higher of the two. There is a separate form that you need to fill out to file a discrepancy but then you need a vehicle roadworthiness inspection because the only reason they will except it is if the vehicle needs repairs or is otherwise not working thereby worth less than blue book value. This started last year.

This it Boulder county though so the level of retard may be significantly higher here.

Must just be there. I rebuilt my Tahoe and never registered it for 6 months. About 6 months ago when I finished I went in and they wanted the $100 fee. I cussed the lady out at the counter told her I'll be back with my wife.
Same lady was the one we dealt with, sold my wife the Tahoe right in front of her, used the same emissions I was going to use for mine and didn't get charged the $100. Only paid $7.20 extra for the title fee.

If I remember correctly, only one toll road has ever been changed to a non-toll road...and that is what is now 36. I don't think anyone will ever see 470 be anything but a toll road.

I only give him 8.5...I've seen some of Sniper's other rants, and this one is a little short. Quality was there, though.

I wasn't too sure about the whole thing when I had to move to New Mexico, but I kind of like registering my truck for 2 years for $80.
