I am getting ready to start loading in 'volume' again after a many year break. Starting completely over and will be loading 556 and 308 both blaster and competition rounds - so I will be spending a bunch of time working up loads for both his and my guns.

That said - is QuickLOAD worth it to help me out and prevent me from 'wasting' too much time?

No idea on the software, but I would think competition loads would vary from gun to gun. So I would think you'd still need to test all of those loads in your guns to find out what works. I would imagine any load data for a specific powder/bullet combo could get you close, especially with plinking/blaster ammo (assuming its from a reputable source and not from "billyjoeredneckonlyhad3kabooms" on some random website).

Besides, I reload so I can shoot more and getting to the range even to test some reloads encourages me to go shooting more often.

I use and like QuickLoad. The only problem if you can spend hours in the program putting together different bullets with different powders and different barrel lengths. It is not the end all because as Buff says, you are still going to have to load ammo and test it but it does give you some great starting points.
