I was wanting to make a trip to Garden of the Gods this weekend, was it affected by the fire this year?
Thanks in advance!

No. Last year's fire came close, but GotG is just fine. Enjoy!

So the weather guessers are calling for 50% chance of rain in the springs tomorrow, does anyone think we will get rained out?

I say its about an even chance you do or don't then.

LOL
The reason I ask, is the rain tends to really form away from the mountains up here, so in closer you have less chance of rain, guess we will just look at some umbrellas or not

Depends on the time of day you hit it up. Storms are set to be just like to day, form up on Pikes about 3 ish and then push off from there. Got a couple good dumps this afternoon/evening.

Just go early and you will be fine. Very rare that anything starts up before noon. They are calling for 60% tomorrow but like I said. the earlier the better just like long range shooting.[Flower]

I would go early like everyone else said. Not to be a stick in the mud but please use a coat and not an umbrella, our recent storms seem to have a lot of lightning and I don't think it would be safe to be holding a lighting rod above your head!

That's good advice, looked at the weather and our options this morning and decided to push our visit to tomorrow, less chance of rain there and here tomorrow and my dogs will be outside all day. They are inside dogs and would probably play in the rain and get all muddy, like dogs do, and that would not make the wife very happy.

The garden is fine ... if you come down around lunch time go to the Garden of the Gods Trading Post (on the west end of the park) ... the cafe there will give you "buy one get one free" entrees with a Colorado driver's license. The buffalo chili is pretty good.
Also, well behaved and leashed dogs are allowed in the trading post (including the cafe). We enjoy getting lunch there and eating out on the patio with our dog.

Glad we waited, the dogs would have had a really bad day today.

How was today for them?
They were a bit disconcerted, the GSD was not interested in going down to the basement, and both dogs wanted to sit in my lap.
they settled down after a bit.

Made it down today, had a great time and even the 3 year old enjoyed it.
Wife made it clear she would much rather live in the Springs than in Greeley.
