These guns are captured from Georgians by the Russians in Russian-Georgian War in 2008. Those are some nice Bushys, but they didn't help Georgians win.

Who else is thinking of "the lowest bidder"?

That was painful to look at. But I bet the Georgians enjoyed having brand new M4s over their older Soviet bloc weapons. Georgia is one of those interesting mixes of older soviet and newer western equipment I find very interesting.

That made me almost as sad as the pictures of the Russian roads paved with Bakelite magazines

When was Georgia and Russia at war? And why didn't Alabama help them?

That's what I did with all my mags and semi auto guns. The ones that survived the boat accident that is.

So Georgia sent troops to Afghanistan to join the coalition, then Russia starts smacking them around in S. Ossetia and they looked to the US to help who basically stood back and Whistled in the other direction. IIRC, at least.

Georgia had US advisors. The Marines had left just before hostilities began. The Russians captured some of their equipment that hadn't been shipped back to the states. And IIRC, the US didn't want to go to full blown war with Russia

In the end, our leadership pussed out.

Yeah. But would you really want a full scale war with Russia?

Can we just send our president out armed with one 15rd magazine against one of their full companies of bear cav?

08/08/08, it didn't hit the news much because it happened the same time as Beijing Olympic. McCain and Bush openly supported Georgia, apparently some claim that statement casue GOP the election.

I'd be more upset if they weren't all Shrubmasters. Ruskies should've confiscated & used them...

A good portion of their military was in Iraq at the time of the "disagreement". I was scheduled for leave at that time and all our flights were bumped from BIAP in order to get the Georgians out of Iraq and back to their country. They were very supportive of our efforts; I wish we would have been more supportive of them.
