NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A man was injured by a gunshot wound in Norfolk Tuesday evening, and neighbors told WAVY.com he did it to himself.

Norfolk dispatchers reported a shooting at 7428 Red Brook Road around 7:30 p.m. injured a male victim.
Chris Amos with Norfolk Police said the adult man received a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his leg and was transported to a local hospital.
Neighbors tell WAVY.com the man was speeding through their neighborhood and when homeowners began yelling at him and making gestures for him to slow down, he exited his vehicle, waved a gun to intimidate them and accidentally shot himself.
Amos said he could not confirm the neighbors' account.

I've thought about things like this before, and how some people don't manage to get shot.

Lets just say we are having a meet-up BBQ or something, and this dude pulls this in front of our "party". How would you imagine that would go in front of a group of 50, 40 of which probably are armed.

The thing that really got me thinking... We had something in our garage one weekend, and my wife's car had to be parked outside. The window was shot out by a BB-gun by some punk kids that just wanted to cause damage for the sake of causing damage I'm sure. But I ask myself regularly: "What would have happened if I was outside getting something from the car, and someone drove by with a gun pointed at me hanging out the window" It would be crazy tragic, but I can't imagine myself seeing a long rifle gun pointed at me on my own property and thinking "Nah, its probably nothing".
