Those people with the "Honk to impeach Obama" on the I-25 overpass south of Denver made my day, right when the traffic is pissing me off too. I don't think I've ever honked that much in my entire driving life.
Who else saw them?

They were on harmony overpass this morning.
They were on the overpass coming down from 120th on I25. Semi's blaring their air horns, cars honking. What I didn't get is there was a LEO standing a short distance from them with a clipboard, looks like he was writing down something as people were honking? Not sure what that was all about.
Would you say a lot of people were honking? Or just a bunch of pissed of prius drivers?
Remember to only honk once. We don't want to be accused of voter fraud.

I think a good number of trucks were honking, including a 18 wheeler who drowned everyone else's honk.

Northglenn runs a great speedtrap there. The LEO on the bridge has a laser and tags people going northbound while they are still in the 55mph zone south of 104th then radios to a car waiting on the hill to 120th. They run it once or twice a week and make bank. Today it was great, they had to reposition north to 120th as traffic going northbound was soooo slow due to the honk to impeach Obama. They still tag a good number of people who kick it up to 75 north of 120th after the curve.

Wife gave a few honks!
They were on an I70 overpass this past weekend in Grand Junction. It looked like they were well received.
Why don't we know who this group is?
Out in the garage having a cigar and read the title......
The wife is pissed and so are the dogs and I'm pretty sure I'm sleeping in the lazyboy tonight.

I could almost agree to that as I saw a lot of motorcycle cops on the northbound side of I25 between 104th and 84th, but he was on the north side of the overpass, looking down at all of us heading southbound. All I saw as I slowly crawled literally underneath him looking down was a clipboard and a pen? Trucks were honking behind me and he was looking at them traffic was horrible this morning and I dont normal drive on the highway but this week is special, Broomfield to County Line Road yuckin sucks big shite.

I am not sure exactly who they are, but today was "NATIONAL IMPEACH OBAMA DAY." (http://rowanteapartypatriots.wordpress.com/2013/08/01/national-impeach-obama-overpass-protest-6-august/)

I think a -
"honk if you love Obama!
-----------------------------------------
then crash your car into a tree" -
sign would be more effective.

A girl I know posted on FB about this... I had to set her straight, but she's a brain dead Obama voter who I've tried to turn before, but alas, she's a lost cause.
This is what she said:
Driving home on the highway today and traffic came to a sreaching hault. Bunch of people on the bridge over the highway were holding up signs that read "honk to impeach Obama" "honk for your 2nd am. " "end the tyranny. " Well... seeing how this is for gun control and all maybe they shouldn't have had a sign with the exact thing (except in Latin) John Wilks Booth screamed on stage after he SHOT Abraham Lincoln in the head.
For those that don't know, she's talking about "Sic semper tyrannis" or "Thus always to tyrants." I had to educate her that the first to be historically quoted as saying it was Brutus after he assassinated Caesar. But in the context these fine folks were using it was more akin to George Mason who suggested it be the Commonwealth of Virginia's motto after America defeated the tyranny of the British. Some people love to take one person's perversion of an idea and call the idea evil. [facepalm]

John Wilks Booth was a Democrat. How's that?
I'm around with gals like that all the time, a lot better now since i've deleted a ton on facebook.

Yeah, that's the jist of what I was trying to tell her. [Shake]
I know, I should know better, I shouldn't try and argue, I should just snap to the realization of the truth and go "right! Idiot."

I drove by the 120th over pass. I honked and there were a few people who did. I wouldn't say a lot though.

Ya I've seen this. I didn't know speed traps were legal here. I thought the officer who flagged you as speeding has to be the one who tickets you.

Nope. CSP uses aerial radar to clock people and then have ground units initiate traffic stops. They do it on I-70 all the time, and I know one of the pilots.

How can the cop issuing the ticket prove that you were speeding if you asked to see proof?

(non-cop answer) I imagine they don't have to show proof on the spot, but at your court appearance should you wish to contest it, at which point they'd have the record from the plane.

That sucks. I moved from California and they have to prove on the spot. If a plane got you, they mail a ticket to you. If a cop is writing a ticket, he is the one who had to laser you.

They do a pretty good trap up on I25 North at the Erie exit (235). Usually have a car parked on the overpass, tagging people, then a line up of CSP cruisers are on the on-ramp to catch the speeders.

I'm vacationing in Michigan right now and last saturday I saw about 50 people waving Gadsden flags and American flags at a busy intersection with honk to impeach Obama signs. It gave me warm fuzzies. [Flower]

How it usually works is that the aircraft clocks the driver- transmits the speeding vehicle's description to ground units (make, model, color, and speed)- the ground unit then attempts to clock the speeding vehicle, then they can issue a citation first hand, or if they are unable to prove violation of traffic laws themselves, the ground units either have citations set aside that are already signed by the pilot, or the pilot later files an affidavit and/or can testify if contested in court.

You can ask to see the laser/radar all you want... They're not required to show you anything.
