My son drew this pic and would like to get it as a tattoo, but now he thinks he needs to redo it. He thinks the boot laces need to be tucked in and the rifle pistol grip is supposed to be facing the same way the boots face. I just don't remember, do any of you remember if there is a significance to the way the rifle faces? It is a memorial to all that have given there lives in service and he wants it to be right. He will be adding dog tags before tattooing Thanks.

That specific design is in almost every tattoo studio in America. If not i have no doubt it's in their files, if not i have it in mine.

ya, I know figured everyone had that design but they wouldn't know what was the correct way and he wanted something that he drew even if it was the same in design.
The pictures that you guys sent let us know what he needed. Thanks again for the help.
he was glad he caught that now before his tattoo.

Was your son in the service? If he wasn't I would recommend against getting that particular image tattooed on him.

Yes and no. If he not going to enter the service go for it, providing he does something like put In Memory of Those Who Served. If he's thinking of signing up, avoid any .mil ink til after boot . He`'ll be glad he did.

Mind you this is just one guys opinion and it's worth exactly what you paid for it but here it goes;
That particular image is very poignant to people who have stood in formations where that very set up is representative of fallen friends. I know several guys that have the same image along the names, initials or dates. It's not just a symbol to a lot of folks. It's the last representation they had of friends. If you haven't stood in those formations, I think it would be an inappropriate tattoo.
But like I said, that's just my opinion.

These are my sentiments as well. Ive typed out several different replies to this and had to start over. I will just leave it at that.

While this is you guys "opinion" following that train of thought all those folks i put POW / MIA ink on should not have done it. Honoring our fallen is done in many ways. I would suggest, as i did previously. The son get some lettering along these lines. It shows respect and acknowledges his appreciation for this Country and it's fallen
In memory of Those who served

Having just the Boots & M-16 would lead me to believe as a veteran, he served. That alone could cause issues, maybe, maybe not. Depends who he runs in to.
