Same here did it and done that for 6 years, and that experience is what got me interested in firearms and changed my political leanings. I hate clowns who say that . I really dislike the FUDDs who say we dont need semi auto rifles and high capacity mags. So now every year I hunt with a AR10 to show they are great guns. This year going to hunt with a m1a scout with a burris scout scope. I am excited to try this.

Six years for me, never fired a gun until an M16 in basic training and was raised to be pro union in MI. Now I own multiple firearms and realized how bad unions jacked up my home state. Better person overall for the experience too, especially after seeing what it's like in other countries.

Due to the like (love) for all firearms, I joined the U.S. Army for three years back in mid 50's with a specific assurance that I'd be attending the Small Arms Repair School at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD. Didn't have M14's or M16's yet back then but did enjoy working on the Garands, Carbines, Thompsons, 03's, 03A3's, 1911's, Grease guns, 1919A4's and 1918 BAR's, Mod 97 and 12 Winschesters plus MANY others.. I don't like to deal in definitions that have no relevance to the world today. Because the world today is not that cut and dry. We need new terms to describe what is really going on.

The liberals would like everyone to forget this country was founded on the concepts of self-reliance, self-defense, and self-determination. In their worldview, you should depend on the government for everything and consequently give everything to the government except what the government graciously allows you to keep (which does not include any means of protecting yourself from their minions).
