I think it looks pretty good! Finally included some intuitive features like mantling, leaning, better audio, new game modes.

True.

BF3 still reigns supreme, I just hate the amount of rounds needed to take someone down (even "hardcore" mode is watered down because idiots cried about dying from a couple shots). Seriously, you need to dump half a mag to drop someone.
man mw3 drove me to bf this is gonna bring me back

YES! Marksman mode! and I like the fact that the maps are dynamic and may change.
What drove me away was nerfing sniping. If you're going to make a tracer round fire every time from a sniper rifle, just remove the class from the game.
I've been playing BF3 since BO2 came out and I was livid at the bs in the game.
BF4 coming out.. Yeah not sure I'll pick this up at all.

I'm in the same boat. Funny that all the things they are hyping about Ghost were already in place by EA in BF3/MoH (knee slides, fluid transition over obstacles, level transitioning).
I still play BF3 quite a bit. I don't however touch any of the CoD's I own.
Eh. Ive been playing project reality lately its pretty fun and realistic.

Based off a game from 2005 last update was the 2nd of this month, still has 500+ active players at any given time.
I just cant get behind these modern warfare games. Battlefield is a good time killer tho

I wasn't really planning on picking this up as I plan on getting BF4 this year as I usually rotate which year I buy them so it always seems newer. But there is a lot of stuff that looks cool, the new game modes, perk system, the player customization in general.
I also noticed that they have the Beretta ARX-160 in the game and I am going to pick up the civvy version if they can get off their ass and release it. I always enjoy playing with guns that I own.
Now if they'd just change the game engine...
They did. It's a new engine.
COD is now mimicking BF. Taking an enemy players dog tags, destructable environments, etc. I like BF far better but if COD Ghosts is only being released for the new console, I won't be getting it for quite a while.

Kill Confirmed has been around for years now. Destructive environments have also been around for years now, they're just taking it to the next level. If you want to get into who copied what game elements I think you'll be surprised how many features the BF franchise (and all other current FPS) 'stole' from the CoD franchise. What's the point? Who cares? If something genuinly makes a game better why should anyone avoid it at the cost of making the player experience worse? As a fan of FPS games I hope all devs copy what works from other games as it drives the progression of the genre.
It's going to be released for both current gen as well as next gen consoles. Personally, I'd rather see them go next gen exclusively so they can focus on that solely & we can see what the hardware in these new consoles is actually capable of. Oh well. It makes more sense that way from the studio's standpoint since it means many many MANY more sales. It will be years before we see next gen console exclusives unfortunately.

Will get Ghost when it comes out.
BF graphics get to muddy when things get tight unless you are playing on a good gaming
computer. Console was ok for BF only if you had a good squad. Could be frustrating getting on a game with real idiots in your squad. Takes too many bullets to take people out. But can be a fun break from COD.
If you are on XBox FOG DrJeckyll is my handle.

It's been the exact same physics models, character animations, and engine since 2008. No thanks.
I'll be over here playing Arma III on PC with 63 other people at a crisp 1440p @60 FPS. Cheers.

PR is good, but is actually too realistic. *GASP*
Much like an actual combat mission, the majority of the 90 minutes is spent scouting, assessing, and reporting back where enemies are or were. Then, you constantly re-evaluate your avenues of approach, only to have the enemy shift position again. You're only likely to get a kill with your rifle when some random noob walks out of cover, so to schwack somebody, you need to mounted on a crew gun. And even then, it's the odd foot mobile while approaching/operating within an AO.
Building rally points and doing recon is fun and all, but I need a medium. Arma with the A.C.E. mod is a perfect balance of FPS and tactical sim, for me.

I'll say it one more time since you seem to have missed it the first time... IT'S A NEW ENGINE. lol at comparing PC gaming to console gaming. Two entirely different beasts. While I haven't played the game you speak of it sounds interesting. Maybe if you didn't present it as some sort of evidence that other games were garbage (that aren't) you might generate more interest. Maybe start a thread about it and wait until the CoD and BF fanbois come into there to trash it.
Not sure if COD Ghosts is coming out for 360 or not, but just like most new games, I wait to hear from all my friends who went out and bought them both so I can get a "No BS" assessment. COD has always been nothing more than an arcade shooter. It's nice to see them delving into the world of destructable environments and different game modes. Guess we'll see how it runs when it comes out. Black Ops II is a laggy POS as it stands now.

It WILL be on the 360 as I've said no less than twice in this thread already.
They have had dozens of game modes on every version before this one.
They've had destructible environments in versions prior to this one, they're just emphasizing it in this version.
Define your definition of 'laggy POS' as it compares to other popular/similar games.

I totally agree that it can be slow at parts but I think they did a good job if it can be that slow at some parts

You also seem to have missed that I never said this has the same engine. I said it has , referring to the work ethic and effort (or lack thereof) put in over the last five years. Which is to say, I'm not buying a game known to be half-assed.
Secondly, I never said that Arma's quality inherently makes CoD a bad game. It is utter sh*t, but not because of the actual quality games available on PC.
If anyone wants a free BF3 disk for the PS3 let me know. I decided to play again before BF4 comes out and ended up with a 2nd disk. :)
I also have a BF3 code for PC gamers, if someone wants it.

If anyone wants battlefield 3 you can get it for as low as $1 here (you should pay more, its for charity)
Actually you only get BF3 if you pay more than the average price paid so far.

Agreed. For all the money the players have dumped into the pockets of the companies responsible for bringing us COD, you'd think we would've had dedicated servers and a far better game by now. Again, from what I've seen of "Ghosts" so far, it looks like they are trying to be more like Battlefield. Just my observation. Oh, and I gave up on trying to have a discussion with Jer a long damn time ago. Black Ops II and even in the beginning of Black Ops, there was very bad lag issues. It seemed they gave a shit and fixed it in Black Ops, but for some reason they fail to believe it's a problem in BO II. Miles923 on YouTube has some excellent COD BO II game reviews. I've actually been playing the heck out of Far Cry 3 and love it. Great game with a ton of playability - Single player campaign mode that is. The multi-player is "okay" but nothing fantastic. I'm not even sure where my POS Black Ops II game is come to think of it.

If you only had it on PS3. :) I'm still looking for someone to give that PS3 disk to so they can start playing.

As in you weren't interested in this game because it's been the exact same engine since 2008. Pretty hard to misinterpret what you said. This game uses an all new engine so it kind of blows that reasoning out of the water, doesn't it? Nice thread crapping w/o adding any useful input though.

You clearly should just go play Arma and stick to threads about Arma.

You quit having discussion with me a long time ago because I use reason and logic and am not a fan of people just making shit up and presenting it as fact... kind of like is being done in this thread.
