I saw this last week somewhere. Pretty stupid, they start banning 80% lowers, but then expand to say parts. The idiot who dreamed it up doesn't understand, or maybe he does?

They are also going after home-made, or "printed" weapons also in S.1149

"SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ‘Undetectable Firearms Modernization Act’.

SEC. 2. FINDINGS.
The Congress finds that--

(1) according to data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, 8,583 of the 12,664 murders in the United States in 2011 were committed using a firearm, and more than 57 percent of the murders that occurred in New York State were perpetrated with a firearm;

(2) the ability to produce a receiver for a firearm in the home would circumvent a number of laws, because the receiver is the component of the firearm that bears its serial number, as required by regulations;

(3) digital manufacturing technologies, including but not limited to computer numerical control mills (‘CNC mills’), 3-dimensional printers (‘3D printers’), and laser cutting machines, are quickly advancing to a point where it will soon be possible to fabricate fully operational firearm components; and

(4) some commercially available products that utilize digital manufacturing technologies to manufacture objects are able to manufacture these objects using materials that are unable to be detected by traditional metal detectors, and may not present an accurate image on an x-ray."

I'm genuinely depressed and worried about the future. Between the disarming of citizens, the abolishing of civil liberties and rights, the dwindling "common sense" amongst people, poison being sold as food, unintelligent entertainment, and the politically-correct indoctrination of kids, I don't see how we can look forward and be optimistic.

Lot of very bad ones that are house bills. I have to wonder how they made it out of committee.

Yep, round 2. Dems actually have support and are trying to milk it for everything they can. They are going to try and shove as much gun control nonsense down our throats until a damn revolution breaks out. Keep poking the sleeping giant with a stick...

Maybe they can give us a tutorial on how to laser cut a whole receiver. Bunch of fucking idiots.

Just remember, libtards like Waxman submit bills like this (and worse) EVERY session of congress ... 99.99% of them never make it out of committee.

That's not to say that we shouldn't be vigilant, but we don't need to flip out every time one of these jacknuts opens their mouth and/or pens some stupid bill.

The reality is that the economy (followed by the government) is going to collapse long before they get the chance to push through any more gun control so one way or another this shit's gonna be over with soon. :D

Gun Violence Prevention and Reduction Act (http://www.popvox.com/bills/us/113/hr2910): To protect American children and their families from the epidemic of gun violence by banning access to certain weapons, strengthening the Nation's mental health infrastructure, and improving the understanding of gun violence.--Recently Introduced--

I bet the peaceful protesters in Egypt wish they had a 2nd amendment. Or maybe not. Do people really not understand why it is SO important?

They are afraid, and this is the only response they know.
