Does anybody know how Idaho is for living there? With all the parasitic liberals moving here and destroying a true Coloradans way of life, telling us that we live in the stone ages and it's time to move into the present. I feel it's time to move on to a state that has a more conservative attitude and people who can actually take care of themselves. My grand parents homesteaded here and I have always thought of this as my home, but to many changes for the worse. I would be open to any state with my views, not just Idaho.

Idaho is EXTREMELY conservative and has almost as many Mormons as Utah. The weather is just a bit milder in Idaho than here.

The area around Coeur d'Alene is frankly one of the few places outside of Colorado that is as pretty as Colorado, if not prettier.

Make the damned Left Coasters feel unwelcome IMO. I remember news stories 10-12 years ago about how Oregonians and Washingtonians were being "hateful" toward a singular class of immigrants: Californians. Of course, their issue was more about how Kommiepornians were raising housing prices (and therefore valuations and taxes) than changing the culture but I'm tired of having to give up real estate all across the country because the know-nothings have moved in.

Sadly a guy I work with moved here from CA about 20 years ago and he has stories about people and police harassing him because of his CA plates. He went to a park during the summer in Westminster and a cop told him the park was closed after 6 pm even though there were almost 200 people there having picnics and letting their kids play and run around. The cop made him leave even though there were others in cars with CO plates being let in.

Thing is the Californians took over long ago ... just what do you think the recent spate of gun laws was about; making conservative Coloradoans feel unwelcome in their own home state.

I remember my dad used to have a shirt with a picture of the columbia and a California exit from the bridge to the middle of the river.

He spent 16 years as a volunteer on the local dice rescue team also

Idaho is great. I took the family up there for 4th of July we had an awesome time. Really family friendly gun and hunter friendly. Only saw 2 weirdos the whole time we were there. Gun stores had guns and ammo including .22 and .223. The winters can be rough though.

All depends on the part of the state. I lived there for 26 years. It's very conservative. Lots of Mormons ( higher ratio than Utah actually) but its what makes it conservative and patriotic. If you fish the access laws blow co out of the water. High water mark and below is public regards less of who owns the rest you can fish it. Big deer, big elk, good water fowling. Totally opposite of co on outdoor stuff too. Every lake or rec area here is a state park and pay to use it, ID I can think of a couple three places in the whole east part of the state that there are fees. Cost of living is low. Winters depends on where you're at. Boise and twin falls is similar to the front range Idaho falls is pretty decent with snow usually dec to mapril and deeper the farther north and east you go. Northern Idaho is gorgeous. If you're serious pm me with jobs you would be looking for and I could prob point you I. The right direction s for a few leads.

Oklahoma is about as conservative as it gets, and very little libertarianism. Income taxes are a little higher there than here, and you have to deal with Texans. Pretty wild weather swings, extreme heat with humidity there in summer, epic twisters, and then ice storms in winter. We left due to the economy being stagnant and came here. If it wasn't for being further from relatives, Utah, Wyoming and Idaho would be on our lists.

Went on a scouting trip there in June to the area around Pocatello and Idaho falls. I loved it. I'm trying to work a deal on a place near Moore right now. Applied for a few jobs...we'll see what pans out.

Found a nice, newer 2100' home with 1200' shop on 56 acres and 4 miles from the local hospital (wife's an RN) for $225k. I want.

Oregon was going south awhile back. I got out 15 years ago. I still visit family regularly. Even my uncle has turned. One of the most right ring men I knew growing up, now, not so much. Id be in Idaho next month If the wife would go. Some parts a heavy LDS. Please no one go there and give us a bad name. Last thing I want to hear is the Coloradans are moving in and effing it up.

That is the input I was looking for. If I move there it will be because I fit in and don't want to change their way of life. I will probably retire there in a year or so.

Idaho is awesome. I have wanted to move there for years because of the low conservative population and the awesome terrain.

I moved here from California at a very young age. My dad was specifically looking for a very conservative place. We brought our conservative votes with us. I don't mind when people move here, as long as they are bringing a conservative vote. Notice conservative...not Republican.

Conservative = values, Republican = political party that at times represented those values

The Republican party has pretty much gone full retard. I'll take conservatism wherever I can find it.

Idaho is a great state. I lived in Idaho Fallas, Blackfoot, and Twin Falls. I left due to the job market, but I would go back if I could. My company just signed a new client and acquired a new Call Center up in northern ID. If not for my kids and ex wife being here I would move to that site in a heart beat. The cost of living is MUCH lower, the people are much nicer, the laws respect our freedoms, and it is overall a better place to be if you have work.

I wouldn't hesitate to relocate there if I were you.

He also left out the tremendous number of people dependent on welfare there ... it's a socially conservative state with tons of socialists that think they're conservatives living there sucking off the government teat (then there's the communist communes with casinos called "indian reservations").

I don't think people realize that when the left gets around to attacking Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska with "The Blueprint" (http://www.amazon.com/The-Blueprint-Democrats-Republicans-Everywhere/dp/1936218003) like they did here in CO that they'll fall blue even faster than CO has.

Saturday was our 11th anniversary living in Colorado ... when we moved out here Colorado seemed as conservative as Texas does today (and we left Kansas which we felt was starting its leftward slide) but in the years we've been here we've watched the dems work their magic on this state and frankly I think there's at best a 50/50 chance that Colorado can be prevented from becoming another California or New Jersey.

The last states that will fall will be Utah, Idaho and Wyoming.

I wish. Wife's a labor nurse, but I must travel nationally for work. Then again, I could cash out, and probably work for living expenses and ammo expenses anywhere else...
