Jensens has been posting about their new mag stand in WY lately. I went on Jensens facebook and stated the legal facts about owning 30 rds mags in CO. Apparently they didn't took it very well and banned me from commenting...

On a side note on the mags. Several ranger officers and I were setting up the qualification course for our PD. One of the instructors is in an undercover assignment and sort of lives under a rock. I made a comment about the mags and had to explain what the law was and he lost his marbles. He was yelling, "That is is absolutely ridiculous, I would never enforce that." A lot of cops are on the same page you are. If a cop ever asks you when you bought a mag....always say on or before June 30th. You may notice the cop winking at you...hint hint.

They are on EVERY Pmag under the tab that the mag release catches. It looks like a clock and the hand points to the month and the year is stamped in the center by the hand. All my 30 round Pmags are made in 2013 and a few a month before the law took effect!

I purchased 7 pmags during the last weeks of July at Sportmans and the Tanner gun show. All of them were made between 3/13- 5/13. Thats pretty close!

I have no idea if a jury would accept a post 7-1-13 date stamp as proof that a magazine wasn't continuously possessed since before 7-1-13. I would assume that most jurors would, though, since it's not easy to possess something in June, 2013, that wasn't made until July.
I can sort of see some prosecutor needing to produce a witness who can explain Magpul's date-stamp method to the jury, in order to make a date stamp admissible. But I don't see Magpul busting their collective asses trying to cooperate with that.
Where the defendant bought the magazine doesn't even matter once he's possessed it in Colorado, unless I'm badly mis-reading the statute.
Like you said, what a big cluster.

EDIT. I used a bad example. In New Jersey, hollow points are illegal for non-legal. They aren't Federally illegal, but because the state of New Jersey says they are illegal, you get into trouble just by having them. I honestly don't know what the Colorado law specifically says. If it says that you can't possess a mag in Colorado that is greater than 15 rounds that you didn't possess before July 1st, then that is what it says. I'm not arguing that the law isn't stupid and poorly written. It doesn't have to have some clear grandfather clause in order to be enforced though.

Non Colorado residents that legally own 15+ round mags in their own state can possess those mags in Colorado reguardless of when they were made or purchased. So...if we are so much safer without the 15+ mags then who is protecting us from the homicidal maniacs from out of the state that come here to prey on us with their 100 round drums?

How did you come to that conclusion? Under the CO statute, regardless of where you live, you need continual possession of the mags prior to 7/1/13.

Does that also apply to anyone moving to this state in the future. 5 years down the road, someone moves in with 30 rounds mags purchased after July 1. so now they have to dump their mags to move here. I guess that isn't no surprise, like you said other states we would have to do it; if we moved there.
Or if they have mags they owned prior to 7/1/03 then they Dont say anything and nobody knows the difference.

Jensens has been posting about their new mag stand in WY lately. I went on Jensens facebook and stated the legal facts about owning 30 rds mags in CO. Apparently they didn't took it very well and banned me from commenting...
I wouldve banned you to. You seem to have no filter between brain and mouth, or in this case the keyboard.

It's pretty clear that Urbanwolf's only intentions in starting this thread is so he can troll the membership.
I have to say, Jensen's probably realized that when they saw his posts, and not having much tolerance for trolls, booted him.
I think they did the right thing.
