So the shooter sustained injuries before she shot? She should have shot as soon as he came at her, she's lucky to have retained her weapon and able to stop the threat. Good for her, but it's a lesson to everyone to keep in mind how they're going to react in these situations, train for it as best they can, and be ready, because this could have gone down very differently.

Oh yeah definitely, a total necessity if the attacker wasn't white [sarcasm not directed at you but at these current times], but in an ideal society would be completely unnecessary given the story we currently have of this dude beating a woman with a metal object, then coming after someone trying to stop him.
